Describe a college or professional football game.

Answers

Answer:

I think this might help

Explanation:

Football is a dynamic sport that demands peak physical performance and exceptional mental acuity on the part of its players. It is a game that is simple in essence but complex in application. At a fundamental level, football is basically a version of Capture the Flag; get to the opponent’s end of the field to win the drive and collect points. However, the game provides multiple layers of subtle complexity that contains both a strategic and a tactical dimension. Football is played on a rectangular field that is 120 yards in length and 53.3 yards in width. The area of the field designated for play where the ball may be spotted is 100 yards in length. There is a scoring end zone on each end of the field that is 10 yards long. Eleven players for each team take the field on any given play. The field also includes a set of upright goalposts at the ends of the field for scoring points after touchdown and field goals. The dimensions of the goalposts vary by league, but for college and professional football, the bottom crossbar must be 10 feet above the ground, the upright posts must extend 30 feet above the crossbar, and the two posts must be 18 1/2 feet apart. The game itself is most easily categorized into three sections – the offense, defense and kicking segments.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is younger than Keira Knightley, and Kristen Stewart is the youngest.

Explanation:

To make Comparative sentences, we have to write the subject, then the adjective, the word than, and the other object or person. If the adjective is short, we add to it the suffix -er, but if it has more than three syllables, like beautiful, we write the word more before the adjective without -er. For example, Angelina is more beautiful than Kristen.

To write Superlative sentences, which are sentences where we do not compare subjects, but we state that one is superior. We write the subject and the adjective with the suffix -est. If the adjective is long, has more than three syllables, we use the phrase the most before the adjective. For example, Pique is the most beautiful football player.

The adjectives good and bad change when we write sentences in comparative and superlative. Good in comparative becomes better and in superlative best. Bad becomes worse and in superlative worst.

how Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet draws on the story of "Pyramus and Thisbe." Include details and evidence from both texts to support your response.

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

Shakespeare was inspired by "Pyramus and Thisbe" to write "Romeu and Juliet," for this reason, the two works have many similarities.

Among these similarities we can mention that the most imposing is the existence of a forbidden love, as families do not support the relationship of young people, due to past intrigues. However, in both stories, young people defy this prohibition and find themselves hidden. Romeo and Juliet do this through a balcony, while Pyramus and Thisbe find themselves through a hole in the wall between their houses.

The similarities do not end there, since the two couples, in the name of their love for each other, decide to flee together, away from their families, so that they can be happy in their relationships, but a tragedy happens and everyone ends up dying, as a sacrifice for each other and the inability to live without the other.

Which sentence from the excerpt best expresses a call for unity?
excerpt from
Democratic National Convention Keynote Address, 1976
by Barbara Jordan
Barbara Jordan, a US representative from Texas, delivered the following speech at the 1976 Democratic National Convention. She was the first
woman and the first African American to deliver a keynote speech at a Democratic National Convention
Let there be no illusions about the difficulty of forming this kind of a national community. It's tough, difficult, not easy. But a spirit of harmony
will survive in America only if each of us remembers that we share a common destiny, If each of us remembers, when self-interest and
bitterness seem to prevail, that we share a common destiny.
I have confidence that we can form this kind of national community.
I have confidence that the Democratic Party can lead the way.
I have that confidence.
We cannot improve on the system of government handed down to us by the founders of the Republic. There is no way to Improve upon that.
But what we can do is to find new ways to implement that system and realize our destiny.
Now I began this speech by commenting to you on the uniqueness of a Barbara Jordan making a keynote address. Well I am going to close my
speech by quoting a Republican president and I ask you that as you listen to these words of Abraham Lincoln, relate them to the concept of a
national community in which every last one of us participates:
"As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master." This-This-"This expresses my idea of Democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the
extent of the difference, is no Democracy."

THE WORLD WITH A THOUSAND MOONS
CHAPTER 1: Thrill Cruise
By Edmond Hamilton

Lance Kenniston felt the cold realization of failure as he came out of the building into the sharp chill of the Martian night. He stood for a moment, his lean, drawn face haggard in the light of the two hurtling moons.

He looked hopelessly across the dark spaceport. It was a large one, for this ancient town of Syrtis was the main port of Mars. The forked light of the flying moons showed many ships docked on the tarmac—a big liner, several freighters, a small, shining cruiser and other small craft. And for lack of one of those ships, his hopes were ruined!

A squat, brawny figure in shapeless space-jacket came to Kenniston's side. It was Holk Or, the Jovian who had been waiting for him.

"What luck?" asked the Jovian in a rumbling whisper.

"It's hopeless," Kenniston answered heavily. "There isn't a small cruiser to be had at any price. The meteor-miners buy up all small ships here."

"The devil!" muttered Holk Or, dismayed. "What are we going to do? Go on to Earth and get a cruiser there?"

"We can't do that," Kenniston answered. "You know we've got to get back to that asteroid within two weeks. We've got to get a ship here."

Desperation made Kenniston's voice taut. His lean, hard face was bleak with knowledge of disastrous failure.

The big Jovian scratched his head. In the shifting moonlight his battered green face expressed ignorant perplexity as he stared across the busy spaceport.

"That shiny little cruiser there would be just the thing," Holk Or muttered, looking at the gleaming, torpedo-shaped craft nearby. "It would hold all the stuff we've got to take; and with robot controls we two could run it."

"We haven't a chance to get that craft," Kenniston told him. "I found out that it's under charter to a bunch of rich Earth youngsters who came out here in it for a pleasure cruise. A girl named Loring, heiress to Loring Radium, is the head of the party."

The Jovian swore. "Just the ship we need, and a lot of spoiled kids are using it for thrill-hunting!"

Kenniston had an idea. "It might be," he said slowly, "that they're tired of the cruise by this time and would sell us the craft. I think I'll go up to the Terra Hotel and see this Loring girl."

"Sure, let's try it anyway," Holk Or agreed.

With the Jovian clumping along beside him, Kenniston made his way from the spaceport across the ancient Martian city.

Why does the author include the following detail: "You know we've got to get back to that asteroid within two weeks. We've got to get a ship here."?

It tells readers there is something important happening on that asteroid.
It makes readers think that Kenniston has not been trying hard enough.
It suggests that Lance Kenniston and Holk Or are in the wrong location.
It foreshadows that Holk Or is going to take over the planet by force.
