[B]:  " Including the original author's name but not including quotation marks around the exact words you took from the source."

[C]:  " Taking a passage from a source and using a thesaurus to change every fifth or sixth word."

Explanation:

Let's review the answer choices:
______
Choice: [A]:  "Submitting a friend's paper, with their permission, as your own."  Note:  Assuming that "their" refers to "the possessive form" that pertains to the friend— then:
Yes; this is an example of plagiarism.
This would be having someone else do the work for you and submitting the work as your own.  You would be plagiarizing the work of your friend.
______
Choice: [B]:
"Including the original author's name but not including quotation marks around the exact words you took from the source."

______
Choice: [C]:
"Taking a passage from a source and using a thesaurus to change every fifth or sixth word."
Yes; this is an example of plagiarism—since you are not directly citing the original passage correctly—even if you do use quotations and cite the course.  Of course, if you do this and present this as your own summary, you are committing plagiarism, as well—even if you do cite the source without the use of quotations.
______
Choice: [D]: Copying and pasting from the internet and properly punctuating (using quotation marks) and documenting your source.
No; this is not necessarily an example of plagiarism—since you are clearly showing what you are 'copying and pasting' from [an] Internet source(s). By documenting your source(s); including the website/webpage; date viewed/accessed—at the minimum; and providing other information to properly document your online source(s)—you are completely giving full credit.

What is plagiarism?

The false depiction of another person's words, ideas, or expressions as one's own unique work is known as plagiarism. Sanctions for it include fines, suspensions, expulsions from school or the workplace, jail time, and even hefty fines.

Although specific definitions differ depending on the institution, such depictions are typically viewed as a violation of journalistic ethics, academic integrity, and societal standards of learning, teaching, and research in many cultures.

Although plagiarism is often not considered a crime in in of itself, like counterfeiting, it is still subject to legal sanctions for prejudices brought about by copyright violations, violations of moral rights, or torts. It is a significant ethical violation both in academia and in business.

Although there is a significant overlap between plagiarism and copyright infringement, the two terms are not the same, and many forms of plagiarism do not constitute copyright infringement, which is defined by copyright law and is subject to judicial review.

Answers

Orwell used satire to achieve his purpose in this passage as:

He uses Squealer's character to parody a naïve follower of a corrupt leader. He uses reversal to show that dictators do not abide by their principles.

How to illustrate the information?

Animal Farm by George Orwell is a fictionalized but realistic account of how people behave, particularly the Russian government under the "dictatorial" leadership of Stalin. This tale is a parable about the same Russian administration, in which people overthrow their leaders in search of a new leader only to find themselves back under the identical authority they had begun by fighting against.

The proposal to rebuild the windmill is described in the paragraph However, it is via this that we learn about the leader Napoleon, who rules the farm's animals with his "cunning."

They had battled for the democracy they thought they would obtain by resisting the human masters, but it had merely turned out to be a charade. Eventually, Napoleon gained control of the situation and pretended to be the legitimate leader of the entire farm's animal population. The character of Squealer is particularly intriguing since he personifies a gullible subject of a despotic tyrant who disregarded the laws he set up yet expected others to respect them.

Leap Year
In ancient Rome, Julius Caesar established the 365-day calendar to match the changing seasons created by the Earth's movement around the sun. Caesar recognized a problem, though: the Earth actually takes 365¼ days to circle the sun. The extra one-quarter day would gradually shift the calendar away from the seasons. Caesar's solution was to add an extra day every four years, in what are now called leap years. Caesar's math wasn't quite right, though. His approach added too many days. So, in 1582, Pope Gregory XIII improved on Caesar's work. He proposed that century years should not be leap years unless they can be evenly divided by four hundred. Thus, 1600 would be a leap year, while 1700 would not. Pope Gregory's calendar, called the Gregorian calendar, is still in use today.
