what is the main idea of characteristics of Indian literature

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Indian literature:

•Religion.

•Deeds.

•Human Values.

•Obedience.

•Bravery.

•Love.

•Morality.

•Poetic Form.

Explanation:

Religion:

Based on the ancient history of India dominated by Brahmins, the upper educated ruling priestly class, Religion (Spirituality) was the primary concern.

Attaining heaven (Mukti) and Reincarnation are the two main focus of Hinduism. Charity (Dana) is the concept that is emphasized in Vedas to attain heaven according to the doctrine of Karma.

Deeds:

Deeds of the past determine the state of the present’ is the concept of reincarnation. If noble deeds are done in the past, noble birth in the present is assured. Ramayana is the story of Ram, the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Human values:

Human values are also a characteristic of Indian literature within the broader web of ‘Religion’. Obedience- to the one above, to keep up the words spoken i.e not breaking promises at any cost, bravery- in war are the important values imparted through the sacred books and epics.

Obedience:

Obedience to the above – it can mean a person in power or an elder person. As in Ramayana, Ram obeyed his father Dasharatha when asked to go into exile and Hanuman (an ape hero) obeys Sugriva (the ape king) immediately when he was asked to go in search of Sita, Rama’s wife.

Keeping up promises at any cost is seen in Ramayana where Kaikeyi, one of the three wives of Dasharatha gets two promises according to which she wants Rama to be sent in exile and her son Bharata to be crowned as a king, which the king fulfils and Rama, the first legal son to be crowned is sent in exile and Bharata is asked to be crowned even at the cost of his life.

Bravery:

Bravery in war front is seen in both Ramayana and Mahabharata which involves the two great epic wars; The Ramayana war and The Mahabharata war- battle at Kurukshetra where the army of both the parties [(Rama and Ravana in Ramayana) and (Pandavas and Kauravas in Mahabharata)] fight bravely for victory.

Love:

Love’ is one of the major characteristic focused on Indian literature. All forms of love as Parental love (In Janaka, king of Mithila made him accept Sita; found in-furrow of the field, as his daughter and Dasharatha dies after Rama is sent to exile), Marital love (In Sita, that she accompanied her husband Rama into exile), love of brothers (In Lakshmana that he accompanied Rama into exile and in Bharata that he rejected the crown) and love of friends (in Karna that he stands by Kauravas against his own brothers) are included.

Morality:

Virtue rewarded and vice punished is the justice done according to the Dharma, which is a characteristic of Indian literature. Ravana and Kauravas vices of Ramayana and Mahabharata were defeated in war and were killed.

Indian literature reflects the caste system that existed during that period. It is according to Vedas, people are divided into four Varna based on their profession; Brahmins (that includes priests and learned men), Kshatriyas (that includes aristocrats, knights, soldiers and other administrators), Vaishya (that include peasants and businessmen) and Shudras (who were employed in other menial labours. This caste system is employed in the two epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Poetic form:

The poetic form was considered as the standard written form in ancient India, that Indian literature was in verses. Ramayana has 24,000 verses and Mahabharata has over 100,000 verses that it takes time for readers to understand them. Sacred books were also in the poetic form called Mantras that are recited during worship. All these forms the characteristic of Indian literature.

Dream Variations
by Langston Hughes

To fling my arms wide
In some place of the sun,
To whirl and to dance
Till the white day is done.
Then rest at cool evening
Beneath a tall tree
While night comes on gently,
Dark like me —
That is my dream!

To fling my arms wide
In the face of the sun,
Dance! Whirl! Whirl!
Till the quick day is done.
Rest at pale evening.
A tall, slim tree.
Night coming tenderly
Black like me.

How does Hughes characterize the speaker in "Dream Variations"?

He portrays him as a man who wishes he could freely express himself and rest safely.

The speaker is portrayed as someone who lives a carefree and light-hearted existence.

Title:

Scary story:

Answers

Answer:

Scary Story Element: scopophobia

Choices for Your Scary Story: invisibility, imagination, hallucination

Likable main character(s): Conner Murphy and Evan Hansen

Opposing Settings: Midnight at the orchard tree

"Something's Not Quite Right": Evan "accidentally" falls from the branch on the tree in the orchard and nobody is there to give him the physical presence he needs/wants in order to get back up again. Conner tries to reach out to Evan and grabs his hand to help Evan up from the ground, but slowly realizes that he doesn't have that ability.

UH-OH: Evan recognizes that he is alone and nobody is there because Conner has only been a figure of his imagination and the human being that he believed he saw at the beginning was just a hallucination. Conner is completely shattered because he wishes that he could reach out and help Evan since he was once in the position that Evan is in now, but he is dead.

Scary story "regulars": a ghost

Ending: Evan gets up and leans against one side of the orchard tree while Conner leans against the opposite side of the orchard tree.

Explanation:

Title: Trick or True

Scary Story:

Evan heard a terrible noise that startled him out of his spiraling thoughts as he lay on his bed. He reluctantly swings his legs out of bed and then forces the rest of his body up out of bed. His body is shaking already from the oncoming panic attack that he felt moments before it was going to occur began to increase into a tremble. He gulps a few times in fear, but because he knows that he won't fall asleep unless he identifies the noise, he changes into his striped long-sleeved shirt and comfy ombre blue sweatpants. To not disturb his mother from her sleep since she has work in a few hours, Evan opened his window and stepped out of it. As he felt a cool breeze from the wind, he gets a strong urge in his gut, telling him to walk to the orchard. He carefully maneuvers himself down the pole that his father had built for him before he left. When he landed safely on the ground, he started the fifteen-minute walk to the orchard.

Meanwhile, Conner was walking deliberately towards the orchard because he felt clastrophobic within the house that he was supposed to call home. It took him about thirteen minutes to arrive at the location.

Evan and Conner weren't looking where they were going, so they accidentally collided together.

"Sorry..." Conner muttered underneath his breath.

Evan stared directly at Conner, too afraid to speak. He widened his eyes at the sight of Conner. Then, he bite his lower lip and cautiously backed away from him, heading toward the orchard tree.

"Coward." Conner rolled his eyes, striding a few feet across from the orchard tree.

The thought of the noise at his house escaped from Evan's mind as he gazed up at the infinite amount of stars scattered throughout the midnight sky.

"Pretty, ain't it?" Conner asked Evan, his arms folded across his chest as he stared at the midnight sky as well.

Evan absentmindedly nodded his head in agreement. He looked at the orchard tree that his gut told him to go to, taking in all of the branches. A memory of him climbing trees when he was younger came and went in a flash within his mind. He decided to climb the tree. As he started to climb the tree with instincts of where to put his foot surprising him a bit, Conner called out to him.

"Don't look down." He took a couple of steps back every time that Evan went up higher and higher.

Unfortunately, the courage that Evan had at the beginning, gradually faded. His fear of everything came rushing back to him and he froze. Scrambling to a branch that appeared thick to Evan, he clutched onto that for dear life.

He squinted his eyes and saw the blurry version of Conner before losing his balance on the branch and falling to the ground. He felt like the falling happened in slow motion, but when he roughly hit the ground with his left arm in a painful position, it was swift yet such a slow burn.

Conner hurried to Evan's side with a smirk but concerned eyes. He bent down to touch Evan's left hand, planning to help him up, but an agonizing sound came out of his mouth, so Conner gently pulled his hand back. When Evan regained his eyesight back, the darkness surrounding him felt empty and numb. He blinked a few times. Conner waved his hand in front of Evan's face, but when Evan didn't react in an expected way one would expect when someone is in their face, Conner held his hand with renewed sadness.

Nobody could see him.  And then he remembered how he died. He was simply a ghost.

With this realization, Conner felt like crud. He stumbled to the other side of the orchard tree. The sudden fierce wind silenced his suffocating screams. Evan eventually struggled to crawl and lean against the nearest part of the orchard tree. The abrupt violent wind disguised his distressed cries.

They were both invisible and that scared them more than anything.

PLEASE HELP I WILL GIVE YOU BRAINLIEST!!!!!!!! What are the major parts of marriage vows? Under what circumstances should couples call it quits? How hard should couples fight to stay together? Does having kids as part of the equation change your mind about this?

Answers

Answer:

Are you familiar with the various stages of marriage? When we are young, we think of life in two parts: before marriage and after marriage. But some people stay married for the majority of their lives, sometimes 80 years or longer.

Marriage can be best understood when viewed as a series of stages, or phases, that most couples work through while spending their lives together. These seven stages of marriage are interconnected, and yet each one is distinct and somewhat separate from the others. Knowing what to expect, and more importantly, how to plan, can help each couple weather the adjustments more readily. Below is a description of the stages of marriage that apply to many married couples today.

The Honeymoon Phase

Universally acknowledged as romantic, tender and idealistic, the “honeymoon” stage of marriage occurs immediately after the wedding through the next several months, possibly lasting as long as a year or two. In fact, in ancient Israel the army would not conscript men for the first year of their marriage to give them time to start building the relationship, a home and the couple’s family. Characterized by passion, sexual intimacy and infatuation, this stage can be extremely sensitive and volatile, and provides a nurturing environment for marital bonding.
