Who is John Proctor?He is one of the protagonists of the book titled The Crucible which featured the Salem Witch Trials as he was falsely accused by his housemaid, Abigail Williams and he was tried alongside his wife Martha Harper amidst many false allegations of witchcraft.
Hence, it can be seen that John Proctor was one of the protagonists and while he was on trial, he had the chance to exonerate himself, but this would mean that other innocent people would die, so he decided to die with them.
