Read "The Eagle” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring’d with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

The rhyming words "hands” and "stands” emphasize

A. how high up the eagle is.
B. how alone the eagle is.
C. how old the eagle is.
D. how still the eagle is.

Answers

Answer 1

The correct option is A. The rhyming words "hands” and "stands” emphasize how high up the eagle is.

What is a Metaphor in "The Eagle"?

The eagle itself serves as a metaphor for a strong, lone figure. In order to emphasize that it is genuinely about a person, it has been personified. It is possible for the reader to make comparisons between the traits of the eagle and the subject of the reference.

As it was perched in a lonesome and calm location, the poet depicts the eagle as being peace-loving. The poet also claims that it does it with the force and ferocity of a thunderbolt.

In my opinion, B. He knows George and is still willing to kill his son.

King Richard's remark, "Off with his son George's head!" is the clearest indication of his brutality and injustice. As a result, choice (B) is the right response.

Why is King Richard a villain?

King Richard III is frequently portrayed as a brutal despot, but recent research indicates that this is not the whole story.

Most people see a terrible dictator with a bent back and a ruthless desire for power when they think of King Richard III.

He decides to be a villain and despises the current state of calm in the kingdom since he feels cursed by unloved, nature, and bored.

Since nature has given him a disability and a life he can't enjoy, he schemes to cause problems. Despite knowing George, he still has the desire to murder his son.

Atlas Shrugged - The Trilogy

You know when you're sick and need something mindless to watch? And the thing you pick turns out to be so terrible that you almost become sicker? That describes the Atlas Shrugged trilogy.

I could spend hours going on about how bad this movie was but here are some of the lowlights.

First off...the cast changes from movie to movie...not the characters the actors playing them. Whether it was because the people making the films were running out of money and the subsequent sequels were budgeted lower grade I don't know but...it was a wee bit off putting.

Secondly...the whole trilogy is shot in some sort of soft focus sort of thing more reminiscent of softcore entertainment from the 90s. Maybe it was intended to make it more sci-fi-ish or something but...again...no clue.

Thirdly...the dialogue. I have never ready Ayn Rand's work nor do I care to but...my god...if these movies are even a faint reflection of her work then it so so heavy handed and over the top that it's more than slightly cringeworthy.

Fourthly the editing was/is atrocious. Characters appear and disappear almost at will. Little explanation is given to motive or...anything.

I freely admit I watched it until the end out of...self loathing or something I don't know but...if you don't want to make yourself even sicker...avoid it at all costs.
