The subjects are the only ones that are blended properly with the brush this makes them stand out from the water but also not make the painting look dizzy. Lastly the composition is well used as in the center the women figure is leaning out of the boat looking into the water this may symbolize a few things, firstly she could be looking at her relfection and trying to evaluate herself.
