Dear Congressperson.

My name is Laura and just like you I feel concerned about the well-being of our society, that's why you decided to address my concern about global climate change through this letter.

Our planet has been heating up progressively and this has caused the melting of the polar ice caps. This affects animal life in these regions and promotes an increase in sea level and freshwater concentration.

Sea level rise will be dangerous for communities living in regions below sea level, as they can become submerged and disappear forever.

The increase in freshwater concentration promotes the death of marine animals and plants that do not survive in this type of environment.

We urgently need to create public policies that help to reduce global warming, especially policies that encourage the use of renewable energy and reduce the need for fossil fuels.

The urgency of delaying this abnormal melting of glaciers is so that life is preserved, not only of animals and plants but of human beings who trust in their work to make life better.

Swin Cash says, “Basketball gave me the vehicle to inspire and empower.” Whom do you want to inspire and empower?
Like Swin Cash, do you have a passion that allows you to inspire others or empower those who feel powerless? What is it? Reflect on your own thoughts, feelings, or dreams for the future as you respond to each of these questions.

By Swin Cash, 2016. Reproduced by permission of The Players' Tribune.

While my playing career will soon be coming to an end, I will never be able to completely walk away. I care so much about whether the league will be around for another 20 years—and more. We had to fight to get where we are. We had to fight apathy. We still fight apathy, but with trust that change will come. We—the players—had to fight for the union, and fight to make it better. This is critical to our success. Many don’t understand but those are things we don’t get paid for. I’ve done all of this because many women before me sacrificed so that I could get my shot. And I did. So why wouldn’t I make sure that the generation behind me got theirs? I remember coming into the league and seeing some of the players who helped launch the WNBA—players like Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes, Teresa Weatherspoon. They were playing not just for the love of the game, but because it was so important for the future. Futures that weren’t even theirs. My future. I was part of the generation of players right after that inaugural wave, and we never forgot their legacy. I’m so proud now when I see my nieces dribble a basketball. That’s something the women before me inspired. That’s something I inspired. I would live this particular life all over again to ensure young women recognize and embrace the queens they are within. This wasn’t an easy decision. It never is, no matter how well you’ve prepared. Most people don’t get to wake up every day and do something they’re passionate about. You always feel you can give more, but at some point you have to do what’s right for yourself. Maybe every athlete goes through that when they retire. It’s hard to open up your hands and let go of what you know. You hold on because it’s so much a part of your routine—and your life. I’ve always been training for something. What happens when that’s gone? I’ve told that kind of story about other athletes in my broadcast work, but now I’m on the other side. This is real. At the end of your career, you do a lot of reflecting. I’ve played for multiple teams in the WNBA, and they’ve all felt like home: Detroit and Seattle, where I won championships, and Chicago, Atlanta and New York, my last stops. And the fans in each of those cities became something like family to me. They’re the reason I’m announcing my decision now. I want to spend this season showing my gratitude to everyone who’s been a part of this journey. It’s been rich not just because of the accomplishments and wins, but also because of the people in my life: family, teammates, mentors and fans. I came into this game unapologetically fearless, as the woman I felt I was called to be. From the way I carried myself on and off the court, to using my voice for the union, to speaking out against discrimination, to fighting for all the kids in my Cash for Kids charity—all of this is bigger than me. It’s bigger than my career. There’s no greater legacy than a legacy of lasting impact. Basketball gave me the vehicle to inspire and empower. That was my purpose. I have 27 regular season games left. I’ll be taking in every moment as I look to the future, whatever it may hold. I understand there’s a new life waiting for me after that last whistle. May God allow it to be as blessed as this one has been—and a blessing to others, as well.

Why every school must have a library?

Libraries give kids another learning environment. They can assist students with using the internet, provide a calm study space, and promote reading. The staff can advise students on books that are related to their interests because they are aware of the novels that each student appreciates. In some cases, these aren't even novels the students were aware they would enjoy. Another strategy for getting pupils to read more is to provide them books that they are interested in. They dive into a brand-new book they picked up at the library and wind up finishing it before they have to. Better learners are produced by reading more and reading books they prefer.

The phrase "media center" has taken the place of "library" at some educational institutions. This change demonstrates how the library's capabilities inside a school are always evolving. Particularly now that education is increasingly virtual and students can access learning resources from any location with an internet connection. Students are taught by librarians how to use school resources safely from home or another location with an internet connection.

Answers

He came because, in his opinion, Salem is a place where witchcraft is both real and practised. He is concerned because names of innocent people are being mentioned.

About Salem

Since The Crucible is based on real-life events, it accurately depicts the location of the Salem witch trials, which took place in Salem, Massachusetts, a small town on a bay on the state's north shore that is still inhabited today. The actual witch trials ran from February 1692 through May 1693. Today, visitors to Salem can tour a number of locations connected to the trials, including a museum about the trials and a memorial to those who were put to death.

However, according to Arthur Miller, "the inhabitants of Salem in 1692 were not exactly the same folk that came on the Mayflower." Instead, they were surviving a chaotic period of political turmoil that would, in less than a century, result in the American Revolution.

The words above were taken from the Norton Sampler, a book by Thomas cooley that contains a number of quick pieces for composition students. The Norton Sampler is predicated on the notion that writing is indeed a pragmatic art which can be discovered by studying some fundamental rhetorical patterns, such as storytelling, brief explanation, comparison, and such. These patterns are similar to the cloth samplers which schoolchildren made in colonial days to practise one‘s stitches (as well as, at the very same time, their ABCs).

In this book, the audience was made aware of a number of tips for reading literary works. The three sections of these techniques were previewing the text, close and critical reading, and reacting to rust what you read.
