Answers

Considering the Combined Law Equation, the pressure of Cl₂ if the volume is increased to 0.800 l and the temperature increased to 55 °C is 114.367 mmHg.

Boyle's law

Boyle's law states that the pressure of a gas in a closed container is inversely proportional to the volume of the container, when the temperature is constant: if the pressure increases, the volume decreases while if the pressure decreases, the volume increases.

Mathematically, this law is expressed as:

P×V= constant

Gay-Lussac's law

Gay-Lussac's law states that the pressure of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature when the volume is constant: increasing temperature increases pressure, while decreasing temperature decreases pressure.

Charles's law

Charles's law states that the volume is directly proportional to the temperature of the gas when the pressure is constant: if the temperature increases, the volume of the gas increases while if the temperature of the gas decreases, the volume decreases.

Mathematically, this law is expressed as:

V÷T= constant

Combined law equation

Combined law equation is the combination of three gas laws called Boyle's, Charlie's and Gay-Lusac's law:

(P×V)÷T= constant

Considering an initial state 1 and a final state 2:

(P₁×V₁)÷ T₁= (P₂×V₂)÷ T₂

New pressure

In this case, you know:

P₁= 475 mmHgV₁= 0.175 LT₁= 25 °C= 298 K (being 0 °C= 273 K)P₂= ?V₂= 0.800 LT₂= 55 °C= 328 K

Replacing in Combined law equation:

(475 mmHg× 0.175 L)÷ 298 K= (P₂× 0.800 L)÷ 328 K

Solving:

[(475 mmHg× 0.175 L)÷ 298 K] × (328 K÷ 0.800 L)= P₂

114.367 mmHg= P₂

Finally, the new pressure will be 114.367 mmHg.

What is Specific heat?

The amount of heat needed to raise a substance's temperature by one degree Celsius in one gramme, also known as specific heat. Typically, calories as well as joules per gramme per degree Celsius are employed as the units of specific heat. For instance, water has a specific heat of 1 calorie (as well as 4.186 joules) per gramme per degree Celsius. The Scottish scientist Joseph Black, inside the 18th century, started to notice that equal masses of various substances needed various amounts of heat to raise people through the same temperature range, and, from in this observation, he founded this same concept of specific heat. Early in the 19th century, French physicists Pierre-Louis Uniformly as well as Alexis-Thérèse Petit proved that calculating a substance's atomic weight is possible by measuring its specific heat.

Given: m=2800g;△t=35 - 22 = 13C ;

During an investigation a scientist burned 48 g of magnesium strip. After the reaction the total mass of the product formed was found to be 80 g. Does the law of conservation of mass hold true in this case? Use complete sentences to justify your answer based on numerical calculations.

Answers

The law of conservation of mass hold true in this case.

Mass of magnesium = 48 g

Mass of product = 80 g

The law of conservation of mass states that mass cannot be created or destroyed, but  can only be changed from one form to another. The total mass on both sides of the reaction (reactant side and product side) remains the same.

Total mass of the reactants = Total mass of the products

The balanced chemical reaction for the burning of magnesium strip in air follows:

[tex]2Mg + O_2 \rightarrow 2MgO[/tex]

Mass of the reactants = Mass of Mg + mass of [tex]O_2[/tex]

Mass of the products = Mass of MgO

Putting values in the equation:

Mass of [tex]O_2[/tex] = 80 - 48 = 32g

The latent mass of the reactant is the mass of oxygen consumed. Thus, the formation of magnesium oxide follows laws when magnesium is burned.

What is Law of conservation of mass ?

The law of conservation of mass, or the principle of  conservation of mass, states that in any system that is closed to all  matter and energy transfers, the mass of the system must remain unchanged over time, because the  mass of the system cannot change. , so the amount cannot be increased or decreased. will be deleted. Therefore, the amount of mass is conserved over time.

The law means that mass cannot be created or destroyed, although it can be moved in space or its related entities transformed. For example, in chemical reactions, the mass of the chemical components before the reaction is equal to the mass of the components after the reaction. Thus, in all chemical reactions and low-energy thermodynamic processes in an isolated system, the total mass of the reactants or reactants must  equal  the mass of the products.

Both atmosphere density and atmospheric pressure decrease with the increase in altitude.

Atmosphere density decreases as we go up in altitude because the composition of the atmosphere changes in favor of lighter gases, lowering the overall density of the mixture.

On the other hand, with the increase in altitude, the height of the column of air above us decreases, and that air also becomes less dense, resulting in lower atmospheric pressure at higher altitudes. What it s the mains idea in streets of gold Good Diet, Proper Exercise Help Protect Astronauts' Bonesby Bill Jeffs1 Eating right and exercising hard in space helps protect International Space Station astronauts bones, a finding that may help solve one of the key problems facing future explorers heading beyond low Earth orbit.2 A study, published in the September 2012 issue of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, looked at the mineral density of specific bones as well as the entire skeleton of astronauts who used a new, stronger "weight lifting" machine. Of course, weights don't really "weigh" anything on the space station but resistance machines allow astronauts to get the same kind of workout. The Advanced Resistive Exercise Device (ARED), installed in 2008, doubles the maximum simulated weight to as much as 600 pounds.3 Researchers compared measurements from 2006 until 2008, when astronauts used a less capable workout machine. They found that astronauts using the advanced system came home with more lean muscle and less fat, and kept more of their whole body and regional bone mineral density. Those same astronauts also consumed sufficient calories and vitamin D, among other nutrients. These factors are known to support bone health and likely played a contributing role.4 "After 51 years of human spaceflight, these data mark the first significant progress in protecting bone through diet and exercise," said Dr. Scott M. Smith, NASA nutritionist at the agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston and lead author of the publication.5 Since the 1990s, resistance exercise has been thought to be a key method of protecting astronauts' bones. Normal, healthy bone constantly breaks down and renews itself, a process called remodeling. As long as these processes are in balance, bone mass and density stay the same. Earlier studies of Russian Mir space station residents found an increased rate of breakdown, but little change in the rate of regrowth, resulting in an overall loss in bone density.6 In the study, astronauts who used the ARED device still had increased bone breakdown, but their bone renewal tended to increase, likely resulting in a better balance in whole bone mineral density.7 "The increase in both bone breakdown and formation suggests that the bone is being remodeled, but a key question remains as to whether this remodeled bone is as strong as the bone before flight," said Dr. Jean Sibonga, NASA bone discipline lead at Johnson and coauthor of the study.8 Bone density loss in astronauts on long-duration missions has been a major medical concern. In the past, astronauts have lost an average of 1 to 2 percent per month. By comparison, an elderly person loses about 1 to 2 percent per year.9 This study shows that, through proper exercise and nutrition, crew members on long journeys in space can return to Earth with much less loss of bone mineral density. But a key question remains as to whether the bones are as strong as when the astronaut launched into space. For these and other reasons, additional studies to evaluate bone strength before and after flight are currently under way.10 Beyond bone strength, further study is needed to figure out the best possible combination of exercise and diet for long-duration crews. One experiment on the space station right now is looking at how different ratios of animal protein and potassium in the diet affect bone health. Another is looking at the benefits of lowering sodium intake. NASA food scientists have reformulated more than 80 space foods to reduce the sodium content.11 "Although more research needs to be done in this regard, our study marks a significant milestone in our long search to find ways to help ensure crew health and performance on long-duration missions," said Smith. "These data will be critical in enabling us to send humans, once again, to destinations beyond low Earth orbit."How do paragraphs 5-7 most develop a claim made by the author?by revealing how resistance exercise helps to protect against bone density loss in spaceby showing that researchers have not yet answered how best to keep bones healthy in spaceby implying that a less healthy diet might counteract the effects of resistance exercise in spaceby suggesting that research should focus on ARED's ability to increase bone strength in spaceWhich detail from the text best supports the answer to Part A? In the past, astronauts have lost an average of 1 to 2 percent per month." (paragraph 8)"...through proper exercise...crew members on long journeys in space can return to Earth with much less loss of bone mineral density" (paragraph 9)"...further study is needed to figure out the best possible combination of exercise and diet...." (paragraph 10)"NASA food scientists have reformulated more than 80 space foods to reduce the sodium content." (paragraph 10) A population of mice in a meadow is growing in a pattern of logistic growth. Arrange these events in the order in which they occur, with the first event on top and the last event on the bottom. Not all of the events will be used. The population increases exponentially. The population fluctuates near the carrying capacity. The rate of population increase begins to slow down. Line D E is drawn inside of the triangle and is parallel to side A B. The line forms triangle D C E. We are given AB DE. Because the lines are parallel and segment CB crosses both lines, we can consider segment CB a transversal of the parallel lines. Angles CED and CBA are corresponding angles of transversal CB and are therefore congruent, so CED CBA. We can state C C using the reflexive property.
