In Chapter 1 of "The Great Gatsby," Daisy Buchanan does not directly answer a question about her daughter. However, she briefly mentions her daughter in a conversation with Nick Carraway.
When Nick asks Daisy what she and Tom have been up to, Daisy responds:
"We've been all over. We're going to Europe soon. I want to see the Colosseum and the Riviera and everything. [...] Oh, you'll like it, Nick. [...] I'd like to do something—I'd like to get away.
I'd like to be alone with you in a forest somewhere. I'd like to live a little while in one spot, instead of being blown around all over the place all the time. What's your opinion?"
This dialogue reveals Daisy's desire for a change of scenery and a longing for stability. However, she does not provide specific information or further discussion about her daughter in this particular passage.

"Many good thanks to those who have arrived! I assume you are certainly enjoying the party, so I will be sure to not disturb you as you waltz. Good day to all!" The queen's voice called down towards all her attendants. Around us all the higher ups danced and talked, giggling in that high pitched voice of theirs, however I sat alone.
"Mayhap you need a partner to dance with?" spoke a boy wearing the finest of silks, approaching me from over yonder, surprising me who sat down on the outskirts of the ballroom.
"Pray pardon, I do not know who you are."
"I trow you have no one to dance with, so I assume I would suffice," he said, sounding rather taken aback.
"I apologize, I have to go to the privy-"
"That is unimportant. Take my hand and waltz with me, for I am the prince."
"Very well," I said, smiling, "My thanks for offering."

Write three full paragraphs on Effectiveness of Advertising and how it affects teens.
Answer:
Find the explanation below.
Explanation:
Advertising is a means of communication employed by the sellers of a product or service to influence potential consumers and to inform them of the features and benefits of the product/service. Advertising is very effective as it creates awareness of the product, and helps the buyer see how the product can help him.
This medium of communication is especially effective for teens as they are easily influenced and enticed by the things they see. Colorful advertisements that are tailored to the needs of teens can increase their desire for a product and eventually make them buy it.
Teens love activities that involve a great deal of energy. When energy drink producers incorporate sporting activities into their advertisements, teens are easily drawn to them and can then be converted to consumers of such drinks.

Voluntourism: An Opportunity Too Good to be True
A Speech to the Student Body of Evergreen High
[1] Picture this: It's Spring Break, and you fly off to some country where there's lush rainforests and beautiful, blue coastlines to explore. There's also people in need, so you decide to blend your vacation with volunteering. Volunteering as a tourist, or voluntourism, seems like a great way to explore new regions and help people at the same time. However, this "volunteer plus travel" experience can actually harm local communities. While many teens might view traveling and volunteering abroad as a worthwhile adventure, there are more genuine and effective ways to make a difference.
[2] Most would agree that volunteering in general is a worthy use of time. However, what if you found out the children you are "helping" are actually being kept in poor conditions so voluntourists will spend money to come to the local area? Dale Rolfe, a supporter of ethical voluntourism, explains the shocking reality that "Animal sanctuaries and orphanages are often manufactured for the voluntourist…encouraging a cycle of exploiting the very animals and children the volunteers are trying to help."
[3] Proponents of the "volunteer plus travel" experience also argue that traveling to new places builds character and is a valuable way to learn about different cultures. With voluntourism, however, participants often pursue experiences that are all about them. For example, they sign up to build a school for a gold star on their resume, but they have no real building skills and take jobs away from local construction workers (Schulten). Or, they arrive to teach English but instead take selfies with the locals. One world traveler and ethical voluntourist believes voluntourism "can perpetuate small minded views of the world by taking insulated, fake, and structured experiences and selling them as unabridged and eye opening" (Carlos). The voluntour experience is a mirage. The voluntourist's eyes are not opened to real life at the destination, and lasting change is not achieved.
[4] If you want a genuine experience where you can see a lasting impact, there are better options than voluntourism. You can volunteer in your local community. Give an hour every week to your town's animal rescue. Serve monthly dinners to the homeless. Be a reliable, positive influence on a child who needs a mentor. Studies show that volunteering and forming lasting relationships with those you help has a positive impact on your physical and emotional health. In fact, blood pressure is reduced, memory is improved, and rates of depression are reduced (Michaels).
[5] There is another reason to look into alternatives to voluntourism. Did you know the average "voluntour" travel package costs $3,400 (Rolfe)? Could that travel money be better spent? If the world's citizens are your passion, it could go to an international organization. If you care about education, your funds can be used to buy books for students in faraway lands. If you want villagers to have clean water, contribute funds to local efforts to dig wells. If you want to experience a different culture, travel to the country as a guest, and learn from the locals how you can best help them after you've returned home. But do not voluntour.
[6] In reality, there are better ways to make a difference. Voluntourism might appear to be an adventure that blends travel and helping others, but it does little except provide a costly, superficial experience that might actually do more harm than good. So, volunteer where you are most needed...at home, where you can stay to see the job through and form genuine, lasting relationships. Choose a beautiful coastline closer to home and send the travel money you saved to an international organization that will put it to good use. Whatever you do, don't turn someone else's hardship into your vacation.
What is the speaker's claim in this argument?
The financial cost associated with voluntour opportunities is exceptionally high.
There are better ways to make a difference than mixing tourism with volunteering.
Volunteering locally has more health benefits than voluntouring internationally.
Voluntourism is a great way to help people and communities as well as travel the world.
Answer:.
There are better ways to make a difference than mixing tourism with volunteering.
Explanation: The clearest support for this is in paragraphs 2 and 6. The volunteer tourism opportunity may be an artificial set-up and actual, valuable volunteer work can be found close to home.
Answer:
B.) There are better ways to make a difference than mixing tourism with volunteering.

Explanation:
The workforce has changed to become both safer, more effective, and moreequal opportunities. In the past, your job options often only consisted of farming or some other manual labor which done by men. SOme people would die in coal mines, get picked up by plagues, or have their fingers sawed off by blades. With new saftey regulations, people can get more work done, with less hazards. The new workforces has also become more effective due to more jobs being offered and more people being offered those jobs. A while back, women couldn't really work and colored people would get paid much less for even less job oportunities. They would struggle against oppresion and often wouldn't be offered a job just of their color. However, the new work force faces some challanges as well. There are still many hazards, both to working and what your working for. Fuel industries are causing climate change, and many jobs are still fairly hazardous to work in. Women and men being allowed to work put stress on some families, and still women are sometimes less likley o get hiered than men. The families that went through the changes in the workforce probably experinced slight stress with equality but as our society moves into further equality, we can move past any opression in the workforce. In conclusion, while the workforce may still have some work to do, the changes it's gone through have been mostly for the best.
Holden has just finished gathering notes for his research project on how steel is made. Describe what is his next step in preparing to write a report.
Answer:
After he has finished gathering notes for his research project, Holden should decide which structure he is going to use in the report because it can vary depending on the topic, which in this case is about how steel is made. After he decides how the report is going to be, he should start writing the report with the information he gathered and in case he needs more information he should continue doing research.
Explanation:
To complete this exercise, you have to write the next step Holden has to do to write his report on how steel is made. It is important to gather the information first because, although you can still do research after you start writing if you need more information, it allows you to decide how you are going to write the report and then you can start writing.
