What is the point of view of this passage? How does this point of view help create suspense for the reader?
Passage
Liana and Coen walked barefoot through the grass to the old oak tree on the edge of the property. They'd been looking forward to this all day. Liana spread a blanket at the foot of the tree and sat down, closing her eyes as she leaned against the tree's trunk. She couldn't remember a time that she had been this exhausted.

Coen watched his sister, choosing to stretch out on the ground. He thought about the long day they'd had, taking care of their mom, but they were glad for the chance to relax and have a little time to themselves. With any luck, they wouldn't be needed for another hour or so and could spend the time chatting and watching the sun set behind the mountain.

As they talked about nothing in particular, neither sibling noticed the umbrella-like hive hanging 15 feet above their heads, nor did the siblings hear the buzzing emerging from its depths. The wasps' nest began to vibrate as Coen turned up the volume on his portable radio.

Which excerpt from chapter 3 of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde illustrates a character vs. character conflict? O Hosts loved to detain the dry lawyer, when the light-hearted and loose-tongued had already their foot on the threshold; they liked to sit a while in his unobtrusive company. O The large handsome face of Dr. Jekyll grew pale to the very lips, and there came a blackness about his eyes. "I do not care to hear more," said he. "This is a matter I thought we had agreed to drop." O "My good Utterson," said the doctor, "this is very good of you, this is downright good of you, and I cannot find words to thank you in. I believe you fully; I would trust you before any man alive, ay, before myself." O But I do sincerely take a great, a very great interest in that young man; and if I am taken away, Utterson, I wish you to promise me that you will bear with him and get his rights for him."

B. The large handsome face of Dr. Jekyll grew pale to the very lips, and there came a blackness about his eyes. "I do not care to hear more," said he. "This is a matter I thought we had agreed to drop."

Character vs. character

In literature, conflict is the struggle between two opposing forces. When those forces are characters, we have a character vs. character conflict.

In this type of conflict, two characters often dislike each other. Another possibility is that they have conflicting goals and interests.

We can find this type of conflict in the excerpt B. Dr. Jekyll is clearly upset with another character, and that is a typical representation of a character vs. character conflict.

Body paragraphs

✔ relevant facts

Conclusion

✔ summary of viewpoint

The parts of the essays need an "introduction", "body paragraphs", and a "conclusion". The answers that belong to the parts are "thesis statement", "relevant facts", and "summary of viewpoint" respectively.

What are the parts of the essay and its elements?

1. Introduction:

The last sentence of the introduction is the thesis statement. However, it could appear near the end of the introduction. In larger articles, the thesis statement may be more than one sentence long.

2. Body paragraphs:

The evidence gathered needs support to defend a thesis presented in the body paragraphs.

The facts that you or your article ghostwriters employ to create credibility in your article are used in part because they grab and hold the attention of the readers.

3. Conclusion:

The conclusion paragraph should restate your thesis, review major supporting concepts addressed throughout the paper, and provide your last thoughts on the fundamental idea.

Signal phrases are handled the same way in both MLA and APA documentation styles.
O True
O False

Answers

Answer:

The answer is true

Explanation:

It is TRUE that signal phrases, tag phrases, or lead-in phrases are handled similarly in both MLA and APA documentation citations.

The only clear difference is that APA recommends the use of past verbs in the signal phrases if they contain verbs while MLA can also use present verbs instead of past verbs.

These expressions (signal phrases) that come just before documentation quotes and paraphrases indicate the author's action in the original source document.

There are many verbs used in signal phrases, including indicate, argue, assert, claim, declare, etc.  Note that some signal phrases do not contain verbs, especially "according to."
