What is the ratio of the area of the inner square to the area of the outer square?

Answers

The area of the inner square to the area of the outer square ratio is:  [tex]\frac{(a-b)^2+b^2}{a^2}[/tex]

Given a figure in which an inner square is inscribed inside the outer square.

The area of a square is the product of the two sides of the square. Also known as side square.

Firstly, we will find the side of the inner square by finding the distance between the points (0,b) and (a-b,0)

S₁=√(a-b-0)²+(b-0)²

S₁=√(a-b)²+b²

Now, we will find the area of the inner square, we get

The area of the inner square=(side)²

A₁=(S₁)²

A₁=(√(a-b)²+b²)²

A₁=(a-b)²+b²square cm.

Further, we will find the side of the outer square by finding the distance between the points (0,0) and (a,0).

S₂=√(a-0)²+0²

S₂=√a²

S₂=a

Furthermore, we will find the area of the outer square, we get

The area of the outer square=(side)²

A₂=(S₂)²

A₂=a² square cm.

Hence, the area of the inner square to the area of the outer square ratio is [tex]\frac{(a-b)^2+b^2}{a^2}[/tex].

After converting the Units, we get 69,286,455 cu inches as the answer

What are Units?The rightmost position in a number or the number one can be considered a unit in mathematics. An individual thing or person that is viewed as distinct and whole but also a component of a total or group is another definition of a unit. When discussing an item's unit price, the word "unit" is also used. It refers to the price per unit, liter, or kilogram. Unit conversion is a multi-step process that includes rounding, selecting the appropriate number of significant digits, and multiplying or dividing by a numerical factor. NIST SP 1038 describes this multi-step method in detail, along with a rounding approach for technical publications, specifications, and other uses including packaged goods in the commercial marketplace and temperature.

Converting yards into inches, we get:

1 cu yard = 46656 cu inches

11 cu yard = y cu inches

Cross-multiplying, we get:

y = 11 x 46656

y = 513216 cu inches

Now, total inches would be = 513216 + 17 = 513233 cu inches

Multiplying total inches by 135, we get:

513233 x 135 = 69,286,455 cu inches

Mrs. Hamilton shows her students this graph and asks them to determine how figure A was transformed to figure B.

On a coordinate plane, triangle A has points (negative 1, 0), (negative 2, 4), (negative 1, 4). Triangle B has points (3, 1), (3, 5), (4, 5)..

Marcus suggests that figure A was reflected over the y-axis and then translated 2 to the right and 1 up. Julianne agrees, and states that the transformations could happen in any order. Which best describes the accuracy of Julianne’s statement?

What transformation was used on the figure?

In a translation transformation, all the points in the object are moved in a straight line in the same direction. The size, the shape and the orientation of the object remain the same.

In this question, the points on triangle A are: (-1, 0), (-2, 4) and (-1, 4).

Marcus' translation is as follows:

Reflection over the y-axis which is x → -x and the points are: (1,0), (2,4) and (1,4).

2 units to the right which is x → x + 2 and as such the points are: (3, 0), (4,4) and (3,4).

1 unit up which is y → y + 1 and as such, the points are (3,1), (4,5) and (3,5).

The points are the same of triangle B, hence the statement is accurate. According to the order of the translations, the second statement is correct.

Write an equation that will let you calculate the distance d between the plates.

Answers

The distance can be expressed in equation d=5.3*[tex]10^{-4}m[/tex].

Given voltage of 96.6 V and electric field strength of 1.8 KV/cm.

We know that d=V/E

We have to find the distance in equation form.

We know that  electric field strength between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor is

E=V/d

Distance is the measurement between two sides or points.

where E=electric field strength

V=potential difference

d=distance between the plates

In equation form distance looks like:

d=V/E

from the question we are that V=96.6 V

E=1.8KV/cm.

Converting to V/m

E=180000V/m

d=96.6/180000

A box has twice as many grapes as a basket. Once 2kg of grapes were added to the basket, it contained 0.5 kg more than the box. How many kilograms of grapes are in the basket now?

Answers

By solving a system of equations, we will see that now there are 3.5kg of grapes on the basket.

How many kilograms of grapes are in the basket now?

Let's define the variables:

x = kg of grapes on the box originally.y = kg of grapes on the basket originally.

We know that:

x = 2y

When we add 2kg to the basket, it has 0.5k more than the box, then:

y + 2 = x + 0.5

Then we have a system of equations:

x = 2y

y + 2 = x + 0.5

We want to solve this for y, then we can replace the first equation into the second one:

y + 2 = (x = 2y) + 0.5

y + 2 = 2y + 0.5

2 - 0.5 = 2y - y

1.5 = y

This means that, originally, there are 1.5 kg of grapes on the basket. And then we added 2kg, so now there are:

1.5kg + 2kg = 3.5kg

find the unknown sizes of angles
(Urgently needed please help to solve)

Answers

Answer:

x=70, y=40, z=70

Step-by-step explanation:

So whenever you have a straight line, the angle is going to be 180 degrees, and whenever you have multiple angles that make up one angle, the sum of the multiples angles is going to be the angle of the one angle.

So let's look at x. The 180 degree angle consists of 110 degrees and x, the sum of these two should add up to 180 degrees, you can set up an algebraic equation to solve for x, but you can also do some simple mental math to see that x=70, so that 110+70=180. You do the same thing for the other angles

For y, you simply need to know 140+y = 180 so y=40

For z there is two methods, you can use the fact that opposite angles are congruent, or you can use the fact that the sum of the interior angles of a triangle is 180 degrees. This means that x+y+z=180 and since we know that x=70 and y=40 then 70+40=z so 110+z=180 so z=70, which is also the same as the opposite angle, you could use either method although knowing that opposite angles are congruent is much more easier. It's called the vertical angles theorem.

Indeed, when looking at the countries at the bottom of the list above, we are looking at places where the primary benefactors of mineral exploitation are major corporations and a few key political figures.Other critics oppose globalization for what they see as negative impacts on the environment and local economies. Rapid industrialization, often a key component of globalization, can lead to widespread economic damage due to the lack of regulatory environment (Speth 2003). Further, as there are often no social institutions in place to protect workers in countries where jobs are scarce, some critics state that globalization leads to weak labor movements (Boswell and Stevis 1997). Finally, critics are concerned that wealthy countries can force economically weaker nations to open their markets while protecting their own local products from competition (Wallerstein 1974). This can be particularly true of agricultural products, which are often one of the main exports of poor and developing countries (Koroma 2007). In a 2007 article for the United Nations, Koroma discusses the difficulties faced by least developed countries (LDCs) that seek to participate in globalization efforts. These countries typically lack the infrastructure to be flexible and nimble in their production and trade, and therefore are vulnerable to everything from unfavorable weather conditions to international price volatility. In short, rather than offering them more opportunities, the increased competition and fast pace of a globalized market can make it more challenging than ever for LDCs to move forward (Koroma 2007).The increasing use of outsourcing of manufacturing and service-industry jobs to developing countries has caused increased unemployment in some developed countries. Countries that do not develop new jobs to replace those that move, and train their labor force to do them, will find support for globalization weakening.
