Please Help 40 Points Underline The Linking Verb In Each Sentence. Put A Box Around Each Predicate Noun.

Answers

Answer 1

We use the word "verb" to describe both acts (what objects do) and states of being (how things are). Verbs include, for instance, the terms describe, consume, and rotate.

What is an adjective and a predicate adjective? The action is explicated by the predicate. Between the two, a connecting verb (such as is or became) is frequently used. A noun that completes the connecting verb in a phrase is known as a predicate nominative. Predicate adjectives describe the sentence's topic to finish the connecting verb.Predicate adjectives are descriptors rather than nouns that characterize a subject and come after a connecting verb. They serve the same purpose as subject complements. Only linking verbs (also known as intransitive verbs) that do not operate on direct objects are followed by a predicate noun. The head of the school was John. John is the subject in this clause, was the connecting verb, and president is the predicate noun that characterizes John. The predicate adjective funny in the phrase The joke was hilarious modifies the subject joke and is linked to it by the linking verb was

Two factors can be used to determine if a conviction was improper: Factually, the defendant is exonerated from the charges. The rights of the guilty person were violated by procedural mistakes.

According to studies, between 4 and 6 percent of those who are detained in US prisons are truly innocent. If just 5% of people are in fact innocent, then 1 in 20 criminal trials end in an incorrect conviction.

The cornerstone of the American criminal justice system has been rocked by forensic science advancements including DNA testing. Answers

Answer:

C. It should be directly quoted because the language is too complicated to paraphrase accurately.

Explanation:

What does it mean to paraphrase something?

Paraphrasing is a way of expressing the meaning of a certain text or speech without using the words that were originally used verbatim. This requires essentially summarizing and rewording the text so the meaning is clearer.

Paraphrasing is best done, however, when the original text can be simplified. The quote in this question is very complex and detailed and would be hard to reword without using some of the vocabulary already used. Because of this, the quote should be directly quoted.

In the context of the passage what does the word massive suggest about Jupiter

Answers

With more than double the mass of the other worlds in the solar system combined, Jupiter was able to absorb the majority of the mass that was left over after the Sun was formed. Jupiter really possesses all of the necessary elements for a star to form, but it was never able to grow massive enough to do it.

What is the Jupiter?

Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system and is located five planets away from the Sun. It is a gas giant that is slightly less than one thousandth the mass of the Sun and has a mass that is more than 2.5 times more than the sum of the masses of all the other planets in the Solar System. Since ancient times, people have been observing Jupiter, which is the third brightest natural object in the night sky of the Earth after the Moon and Venus. The Roman god Jupiter, known as the King of the Gods, inspired its name.

Although helium makes up a quarter of Jupiter's mass and a tenth of its volume, the planet is largely made of hydrogen. Although, like the other huge planets in the Solar System, it lacks a clearly defined solid surface, it likely contains a rocky core made of heavier elements. Jupiter's interior continues to compress, producing more heat than it takes in from the Sun. The planet is an oblate spheroid, with a minor but distinct bulge near the equator, due to its quick spin. With turbulence and storms along their interacting borders, the outer atmosphere is separated into a number of latitudinal bands. As a result, the Great Red Spot, a massive storm that has been visible since at least 1831, is a notable phenomenon.
