According to the new remuneration scheme, the starting pay of a lecturer a is RM3,087 per month and the annual increment is RM195. Ahmad, who is 25 years old, becomes a lecturer in a university. (a) What will his monthly salary be when he is 45 years old? (b) What will his age be when he gets a monthly payment of RM8,937?

Answers

Step-by-step explanation:

arithmetic sequence : every new item of the sequence is created by adding a constant term to the previous item - in this case 195.

a1 = 3087 (that's our starting value)

a2 = a1 + 195

a3 = a2 + 195 = a1 + 2×195

an = a1 + (n-1)×195

a)

when he is 45 years old, that is 20 years (and 20 annual increments) plus to our starting value.

so, n = 1+20 = 21

a21 = a1 + 20×195 = 3087 + 20×195 = 6987

so, when he is 45 years old, his monthly salary will be RM6,987

b)

how many years (= how big is n) until he gets 8937 ?

8937 = a1 + (n-1)×195 = 3087 + (n-1)×195 =

= 3087 + n×195 - 195 = 2892 + n×195

6045 = n×195

n = 6045/195 = 31

so, a31 = 8937

and that means, he has to work 30 additional years (31 minus the starting level 1) to earn monthly RM8,937.

that means he will be 25+30 = 55 years old.

1. Brady had 432 Legos. Owen has

does Owen have?
How
many do
they have all together?

Answers

Total legos = Brady’s legos + Owen’s legos. Brady has 432 legos and Owen has three times that amount. This means Owen has 432 X 3 legos: this will give you the answer that Owen has 1296 legos. To find the number of legos they have all together, use the equation in the beginning (Brady’s legos + owens legos). 432 + 1296 = 1728(the total number of legos they have altogether)
They have 1296 legos all together

Janice is a travel agent. She receives a 7% commission based on the value of the trips she
books. Today she spent 5 hours arranging a $6,300 cruise for a couple.

Answers

Based on her commission percentage, Janice was able to earn $441 in commission which translates to $88.20 per hour

The commission that Janice earned is found by:

= Commission percentage x Value of trip booked

= 7% x 6,300

= $441

The amount she earned per hour is therefore:

= Commission earned / Number of hours worked

= 441 / 5

= $88.20

In conclusion, Janice earned $441 in commission and earned $88.20 per hour.

Answer:

  one solution; (x, y) = (4/3, 11/3)

Step-by-step explanation:

The two lines described by the equations have different slopes, so there will be exactly one solution to the system of equations.

__

The slope of the line will be the coefficient of x when you solve for y. In the first equation, the slope is 2. In the second equation, you can solve for y by adding x, and dividing by 2. Then the slope of that line is found to be 1/2.

Lines with different slopes must intersect somewhere. That point of intersection is the (one) solution to the system of equations.

Answer:

[tex]\displaystyle y = -\frac{2}{3} x + \frac{34}{3} \text{ or } 2x + 3y =34[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to find the equation of a line that contains the point (5, 8) and is parallel to the graph of:

[tex]\displaystyle 2x + 3y = 9[/tex]

Recall that parallel lines have equal slopes.

Find the slope of the given graph by rewriting it in slope-intercept form:

[tex]\displaystyle \begin{aligned} 2x + 3y & = 9 \\ \\ 3y & = -2x + 9 \\ \\ y & = -\frac{2}{3} x + 3 \end{aligned}[/tex]

Hence, the slope of the given graph is -2/3. Therefore, the slope of our new line must also be -2/3.

Since we now have a slope and a point, we can consider using the point-slope form:

[tex]\displaystyle y - y_1 = m(x-x_1)[/tex]

Substitution yields:

[tex]\displaystyle y - (8) = -\frac{2}{3}(x -( 5))[/tex]

We can simplify this into slope-intercept form:

[tex]\displaystyle \begin{aligned} y - 8 & = -\frac{2}{3} x + \frac{10}{3} \\ \\ y & = -\frac{2}{3} x + \frac{34}{3}\end{aligned}[/tex]

Or, into standard form:

[tex]\displaystyle \begin{aligned} y & = -\frac{2}{3}x + \frac{34}{3} \\ \\ 3y & = -2x + 34 \\ \\ 2x + 3y & = 34 \end{aligned}[/tex]

What do I do?

Backstory)) Today as I was waking to lunch with a few people that were my so called friends, they are in the dance team and they wanted to go and help sell tickets there was one small table to sell tickets. But the thing is that there is only room for about 4 people on that table but they fit 7 which logically I think we all know that 7 people don’t need to sell tickets, only if 2 people actually bought tickets

So as we entered the cafeteria I followed them (I am not on the dance team) they went to that very table then I asked the obvious question where should I sit? Cause there want room for me. Then one of my friends pointed at an empty table and told me to sit there. I sit there the whole lunch eating only a few. I am stressed when nobody is next to me eating which causes me to eat less. Cause I feel everyone is staring at me. So I act like I am fine. Then after that we had some free time. I went to the bathroom the whole free time to just cry. But the thing is as the free time started they didn’t come and get me they just walked off so that’s why I went to the restroom and stayed in there for a little till the bell rang.

So what should I do they are going to do the same thing tomorrow and I am getting stressed cause I have no other friends to sit with.

A. - 31 - 71 = - 102

B. - 9 + 14 = 5

»»————- ★ ————-««

Here’s why:

⸻⸻⸻⸻

A. The minuend, subtrahend, and difference are parts of a subtraction problem. In the subtraction problem, - 31 - 71 = - 102, the number - 31 is the minuend, the number 71 is the subtrahend and the number - 102 is the difference.

B. When you are adding a negative number to a positive number you are effectively subtracting the second number from the first. ... And then you add the negative number, which means you are moving to the left – in the negative direction.

The mean of a soccer team goals is 6 goals after 4 games. If the team scored 5 goals in the first game, 6 goals in the second game and 6 goals in the third game, how many goals did they score at the 4th game?

Answers

Answer:  7 goals

=====================================================

Work Shown:

We have this set of data

[tex]\begin{tabular}{|l|l|}\textbf{game} & \textbf{goals}\\ 1 & 5 \\ 2 & 6 \\ 3 & 6\\ 4 & x \end{tabular}[/tex]

where x is some positive whole number. Add up everything in the second column:

5+6+6+x = x+17

This represents the total number of goals made over the four games.

Divide this over the number of games played (4) and set that equal to the mean of 6. Solve for x.

(x+17)/4 = 6

x+17 = 4*6

x+17 = 24

x = 24-17

x = 7

7 goals were scored in the fourth game.

Answer:

Solution:

The formula to find the perimeter of the quadrilateral = sum of the length of all the four sides.

Here the lengths of all the four sides are 5 cm, 7 cm, 9 cm and 11 cm.

Therefore, perimeter of quadrilateral = 5 cm + 7 cm + 9 cm + 11 cm

                                                     = 32 cm
