What is the difference between a fact and an opinion? Give an example of each.

Answers

Answer: Facts will also be unbiased. They do not support only one perspective and present the information in an objective manner. For opinions, the author's writing might be biased and written in a way to try to persuade the reader to believe in what he or she is saying.

Explanation: For example, your friend says that all ice cream is tasty. This is their opinion, because not everyone may think the same way, nor can it be proven to be true. Opinions may not be rooted in fact or be supported by strong evidence, though there are exceptions, such as in the case of expert opinions.

Answers

Answer:

Their favorite meals are being cooked by them in the garden now.

Explanation:

First, identify the direct subject of this sentence, which is they. Remember to always change things in the independent clause. Then place the indirect object of the sentence at the beginning, which is favorite meals in this case. Switch things around until they make the same meaning (except wordier), and voila - you are done.

Note: most of the time, passive voice is wordy, unclear, and hard to read, so stick with active voice for other writing.

Answers

The answer is C, Falling out of bed, Dustin hit his head on the night stand.

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Okay, so I'm just going to go with a ruling-out method, I hope you don't mind-

It isn't A because all it does is add a comma and we're looking for interest

It isn't B, because in the first sentence (Dustin fell out of bed. He hit his head on the night stand), it goes in a sequence. He fell out of bed and then he hit his head on the night stand. But B isn't in sequence.

It's not D because, again, it shows no interest, plus you don't need it to be two sentences.

I hope this helps, I know I didn't explain it well, so sorry about that :)

And by paddies in Asia bones wearing a few shadows walk down a dirt road, smashed bl**ds ckers on their heel, knowing flesh thrown down in the sunshine dogs shall eat and flesh flung into the air shall be seized by birds, shoulder blades smooth, unmarked by old feather-holes, hands rivered by blue, erratic wanderings of the blood, eyes crinkled shut at almost seeing the drifting sun that gives us our lives.

Answers

Answer:

I'm not sure what you're wanting but I didn't sleep good would have sounded better with I didn't sleep well no word immediately is spelled wrong it should be I let another hour pass The word quick is in the wrong place shower quickly would be more appropriate The word early does not belong there should not be an explanation mark after headache when I finally arrived would be more appropriate there is no such word as worser it is just plain worse also I don't think I should have an exclamation mark unless they're stressing those two sentences then it would be appropriate as far as the commas go there are a couple misplaced or added extra but I'm not really sure which ones.

Answers

Answer:

My dad is a tall man, with emerald green eyes, a square jawline, and a smile that seems to always make any situation seem better.

I’ve inherited some of that. His emerald green eyes and the height.

Now you might be wondering about my mom. Well, I am, till this date, still wondering about that, too. She died right before I was born in a car crash.

“You were lucky to be alive,” Dad says. “Or else, I don’t know what would have become of me,” Dad says that my blonde hair and wide eyes come from my mom. He never really talks about her, though. I don’t blame him. It must be hard for him, even up till now. That’s why I try not to bring up the topic too much.

“Bye, Kelly!” Dad called from the kitchen counter.

“Bye, Dad!” I called back, and the minute I stepped outside, I knew that eleventh grade would be tougher than a ninth or tenth grade ever will be. Prom would happen, the nerve-racking SATs, etc.! Most of all, eleventh grade would change me.

I stepped onto the bus and put on my earbuds. Despite putting the music on to the highest volume, I could still hear the boys screaming in the back.

“Hey! Turn it down!” the bus driver yelled, but there was no change.

“Be quiet!” a voice called from the back. Everybody turned their heads to see what all the commotion was about. When we saw who said it, everyone started laughing. I couldn’t help but smile. That girl was Ava Max, the shortest kid in our school.

Her face turned pale as she put on her earbuds and continued reading.

A few minutes later, the bus pulled up in front of the school.

Home of the Raiders! The titles screamed.

I stepped into my first class: homeroom. Ok, well technically, it wasn’t really a class, just somewhere you would get your schedules and all, but whatever.

As I got my schedule, I started checking it over. First-class was math.

I stepped out of the homeroom and into Math.

“Take your seats, everyone!” Mrs. Matos, our math teacher, said. She was very charming. She had wide eyes and blonde hair, just like me. Some wrinkles on her face indicated that she was old, but she was exceptionally old.

Before beginning, she glanced over at everyone, her eyes lingering on me for a moment, and started attending.

“All right, do we have Emma Taylor?” A girl whose long blonde hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail raised her hand. It looked like Mrs. Matos was going to say the next name when her face turned sort of confused.

“Um, Kelly Brown?” I raised my hand and she continued with the attendance.

We were given an assignment on angles to work on for the rest of the period, I gave the paper in, and she gave me a C-. I guess they didn’t grade by effort anymore like they did in middle school.

“Do you, um, have a free period by any chance?” Mrs. Matos shifted in her chair, just as I was about to head out the door. Was she nervous?

“Yeah, right now. Why?”

“Well, I—I needed some... help. I needed some help in grading papers. Would you like to help me?" I looked around as if asking for help. Right now? I was planning to study! But her large blue eyes made me think otherwise. I plastered on a huge smile on my face and said, "Of course!"

“So,” Dad said that night. “How was your second day of being a Junior?”

“Oh, it was nice,” I said. “Mrs. Matos, my Math teacher, isn't as bad as Ms. Marsh.” I rolled my eyes as Dad laughed. "She was horrible! She barely taught us anything! Thank God eighth grade wasn't the longest school year!" Dad laughed even more and I lightly punched his shoulder.

That night, as I was cleaning the attic, I found a picture of a woman. Her long blonde hair flowed behind her back and her deep, sea-blue eyes reminded me of a quote by William Shakespeare: The eyes are the window to your soul. She reminded me of Mrs. Matos, too, both with the same mammoth eyes and long, stringy hair. I grabbed the picture and hung it above my bed. It looked nice there.

At Math class the next day, before heading out to English, Mrs. Matos asked, “So Kelly, do you want to help me grade some papers after school today?”

“I can't,” I said. "I promised to help Dad clean the house tonight."

The deception began subtly. It was merely a white lie I told to boost my own image. But as it expanded, it turned into a monster I was powerless to stop.

When I was a senior in high school, it all began. I wanted to attend my dream college, therefore I started applying for admission. But because my grades were inadequate, I lied on my application. I lied when I claimed to have a 4.0 GPA because I only had a 3.5.

I was aware that I had erred even though I had been accepted to my dream school. I was concerned that I might be discovered, but I had no idea what to do. So I just continued to lie.

I lied to my friends, my family, and even my teachers. I misled them into believing that I was an A student when, in fact, I was having trouble keeping up with the workload.

I began to feel the effects of the deception. I was always worried and stressed out, and I was frightened of getting discovered. I started to distance myself from my family and friends, which led to my isolation and depression.

I finally reached my breaking point one day. My folks were indignant when I told them about the lying. They informed me that I would have to start over since I had wrecked my prospects of enrolling in a reputable college.

I was inconsolable. I had erred, and now I had to pay the consequence. I had to start over and enroll in a community college.

Despite the difficulties, I managed to get some important knowledge. I discovered that lying is never a solution. You always end up paying for it.

The deception altered everything. It altered both my present and my future. I'm still suffering as a result of that lie, but I'm determined to get over it. Despite having to start from scratch, I'm motivated to succeed.

I'm confident that I won't ever lie again. I'm aware that it's not worthwhile. The agony and the deception are not worth the

Now, I'm a different person. I am more trustworthy and cautious than other people. I am aware that I have no control over anything that occurs to me, but I do have power over what I do. Even when it's challenging, I have the option to be honest.

I'm committed to create a better future for myself, and I have confidence in my ability to achieve so. I won't let the untruth to define who I am. I'm going to use it to strengthen me.

Do you think a poor person and a rich person could be friends even though they were raised differently? Why or why not?

Answers

Answer:

They could be friends. Depending on the person / people, they could become really good friends. Of course, if the poor person gets jealous easily or if the rich person is too snobby, it may not work. Despite their differences, they are still people. They, of course, will have very different backgrounds. For example, I was once friends with a "rich" person before. I, myself, have come from a very low place but the person was very kind to me, despite my background. We would have playdates, sleepovers, etc. Although I felt as if they pitied me, they never showed it. I don't know if it was because they didn't want to be mean, or if they just generally saw me as a normal person, such as their self and I think that can show how people of different social classes can be very good friends.
