how abiotic factors limit the dynamic of community?

Answers

Answer 1

This is how abiotic factors limit the dynamic of community-

The ecology of high altitudes, especially the alpine forest, has historically been thought to be dominated by abiotic causes. Altitude, regional climate, and orographics can all have a significant impact on sunlight, temperature, water, and gas-phase nutrients (such CO2 and O2) (e.g., maritime vs. continental mountain ranges). In addition, a number of elements, including as solar and long-wave radiation, wind, and ambient humidity, that affect the energy balance and temperature of leaves may also change with elevation.

What are abiotic factors?

Abiotic components or abiotic factors or variables are non-living chemical and physical elements of the environment that have an impact on living things and the health of ecosystems in biology and ecology. Biology as a whole is supported by abiotic causes and the phenomena that go along with them.

For the gaseous exchange to work efficiently, there must be a difference in concentration between the gases in blood and in alveolus. Give two ways in which these differences are maintained.

Answers

The differences between the concentration gradients of gases in blood and in alveolus is maintained by two processes called inhalation and exhalation.

The process of inhaling oxygen rich air is called inhalation and the process of expelling out carbon dioxide rich air out from the body is called exhalation. Inspired air is rich in oxygen which is stored in the lungs or alveoli temporarily and the carbon dioxide from the blood is expelled out through the lungs through a process called gaseous exchange.

During respiration, diffusion accounts for the majority of gas exchange. A concentration gradient drives movement through the mechanism of diffusion. In the lungs, blood that has a high carbon dioxide content and a low oxygen content exchanges gases with the air. Compared to the blood, which is depleted of oxygen, the air in the lungs contains more oxygen and less carbon dioxide. During respiration, gas exchange is made possible by this concentration gradient.

Sam is investigating the factors that affect photosynthesis. She keeps some plants in the dark for 24–48 hours. They receive no light. What does this remove from the plants?

Answers

This removes the light from the plants.

Keeping the plants in the dark for 24-48 hours removes the source of light from the plants.

Light is one of the essential factors required for the process of photosynthesis in plants.

During photosynthesis, plants use light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. This process takes place in specialized cell structures called chloroplasts, which contain the pigment chlorophyll that captures light energy.By depriving the plants of light for an extended period, the plants are unable to carry out photosynthesis. As a result, they are unable to generate the energy-rich molecules necessary for their growth, development, and survival.Without the presence of light, plants cannot perform the chemical reactions involved in photosynthesis and cannot produce the required carbohydrates and other organic compounds.

Thus, the plant's source of light is removed by keeping them in the dark for 24 to 48 hours.

How does the initial mass of a star relate to its surface temperature and luminosity?

Answers

For stars in their main sequence, as stellar mass increases, so do diameter, temperature and luminosity.

What is the relationship between stellar temperature, radius, and luminosity?

The brightness (luminosity) is represented on the y axis in the H-R diagram below, while temperature is indicated on the x axis (from right to left). The population of stars displayed diagonally from top left to bottom right is the main sequence.

The brightness of any incandescent (heat-glowing) object obviously rises with temperature, and the hotter the object, the bluer its light.

A faster rate of fusion in the core, caused by more pressure from greater mass, is what causes a star to get hotter.

So, the larger the star (mass and diameter), the brighter, hotter, and bluer it is. Smaller stars are redder and colder.

Red giants and white dwarfs do not appear in the main sequence.

lysozyme, an enzyme found in human saliva, tears, and other secretions, catalyzes the hydrolysis of the beta-1,4-glycosidic linkages and peptidoglycan. This enzyme degrades the bacterial cell wall but it is suitable for human health by preventing bacterial infection.

What is hydrolysis?

The cleavage of biomolecules known as biological hydrolysis occurs when a water molecule is consumed in order to cause the division of a bigger molecule into its component parts. Saccharification is the process of hydrolyzing a carbohydrate into its individual sugar molecules, as occurs when sucrose is broken down into glucose and fructose.

The beta one for, say, acidic connections, an urgent analogy that will demolish the bacterial cell wall. By destroying their peptidoglycan, it breaks down the bacterial cell wall. In addition, since we lack peptidoglycan in our bodies, an enzyme that kills bacteria won't have the same impact on human cells. This is excellent for human health since it can help stop bacterial infections. Because it will presumably destroy microorganisms, we detect it in human secretions that come into contact with the environment, such as tears and saliva.

As that debate heated up seven years ago, Coke decided to sell soda in smaller bottles and cans. The mini-cans and bottles were a hit for Coke. Mini-bottle sales have grown over the last three years and increased 15 percent in just the first five months of 2015.The mini-cans of Coke are so popular that they now compete with 12-ounce cans and 2-liter bottles for grocery shelf space. Originally, the company only made smaller versions of Coke and Diet Coke. Now, several different soda brands owned by Coca-Cola come in small bottles, including Sprite, Fanta Orange soda and Seagram's Ginger Ale.Sandy Douglas is president of the North America division of Coke. He says the mini-cans are making the company a lot of money.A regular 12-ounce can of Coke, for instance, sells on average for 31 cents. A 7.5-ounce mini sells for 40 cents. Even though the mini-cans have less soda, they cost more than a regular can, Douglas said.Owners of shares in the Coca-Cola company are no doubt impressed. The plan to sell Coke in mini-cans and bottles has helped the company's stock price soar for the last seven years. But not everyone thinks this is a good thing.Less Coke, Less DamageMichael Jacobson is president of a health advocacy group. He says the smaller bottles do carry fewer health risks. They are less likely to give consumers tooth decay or diabetes. Still, he worries that some people who do not drink sodas may want to try the mini-can because of its size."I don't know how this is going to shake out, but we should know soon as the popularity increases," he said. He urged Coke and its rival, Pepsi, to reduce other soda sizes, including the 2-liter bottle and 12-ounce can.For the past 10 years, sodas have become less and less popular in North America. Americans, given more choices in teas, coffee and water, have pulled back on drinking sodas.A poll last year found that more than half of adults avoided all types of soft drinks. Even Diet Coke, which has fewer calories than regular Coke, is becoming less popular. Many cities are concerned about the effects of soda on people's health. They have tried to get soda companies to pay higher taxes or provide smaller portions. Last year, many people were upset with Coke. Newspapers reported that the company was paying a group of scientists at a university. The scientists said the reason Americans were getting fatter was because they did not exercise enough, not because they drank too much soda.Coke cut ties to the group and the organization later shut down.People Don't Mind Spending More For The Right SizeThrough its mini-cans, Coke has found a way to make money even though fewer people drink soda. People are willing to pay more for smaller bottles. They are more convenient and let you control how much you consume, said Duane Stanford, who works at a soft drink magazine. The mini-cans can also bring back consumers who see soft drinks as a treat, Stanford said. The mini-bottles have changed the way Coke calculates its business, though slowly. The company still measures the amount of soda it sells in volume. The volume of soft drinks that the company sold in North America at the end of last year grew 2 percent. But because of the mini-bottles, it is now reporting the amount of money it makes per purchase."The past focus of both our company and the industry was how many gallons were sold," Douglas said. "That's not a good approach for anticipating and meeting consumer needs in a world exploding with choices."Douglas said mini-cans and bottles are popular with all people, but especially upper-income consumers and mothers."Moms want to treat their kids, but they don't want them to have too much," he said. "They want to be in control, and these packages give them control."
