Typically, yes. There’s many different ways to do so. Here’s 3:
1. Permission to Travel or Consent to Travel Letter. This is the form to use if your friends/family travel with a minor.
2.Im not aware of any state that requires that the legal guardian live in the same state as the “ward”/“protected person” in guardianship laws.
3.the parent can relinquish legal custody to a sibling at any time if they find that they are unable to properly care for the child. If the parents agree to relinquish custody, the process can be fairly simple and without a fight.
