One way Islamic culture blended with other cultures in al-Andalusia during the period c. 1200 to c. 1450 can be seen through the knowledge traded between cultures. For instance, an Islamic scholar influenced a Jewish philosopher, who influenced a Christian philosopher.
If you had to give up one of your senses, which would you give up and why? Why would you not give up the other senses?
Answer:
I would give up my sight.
Explanation:
I'd prefer to lose my sight because I can remember what I witnessed and observed while I still had it. I could also use that memory to determine an object, and then still use my sense of hearing and touch to better enhance that object.
Some may say they'd rather lose their hearing, but, for me, hearing does everything for me. I can listen to my favorite music, hear people, and just hear the world. And, sadly, most people who have lost their hearing said that they can't remember what their loved one's voices sound like anymore, including their own.
Yes, sight is a strong sense of perception in the world, but the idea of losing that sense gives me more positives than if I were to lose my hearing.
Losing either one of these senses isn't good, but they both have their advantages when needed.
Don't even get me started with the sense of smell. I'm keeping that, sooooo....if I can't smell, I can't taste. If I can't taste, what's the fun in eating food?
Anyhoo, that's my answer :)) I'd like to know about other people's opinions!
