if there's 23% cytosine how much adenine

Answers

I'm going to tell you how to find the answer yourself so you can figure out other problems like it.

First, DNA is made up of those four nucleic acids. Adenine always pairs with Thymine in DNA. Guanine always pairs with Cytocine.

Therefore, the amount of Adenine will always equal the amount of Thymine in DNA. The amount of Guanine will always equal the amount of Cytocine.

So, if Adenine equals 23% of your sample and Adenine equals Thymine, then Thymine equals 23%.

Add the amounts of Adenine and Thymine. 23% + 23% = 46%

100% - 46% =

That gives you the percentage of Cytocine and Guanine together. Since they are in equal amounts, divide by two and you have the percentage of each.

What should be my key concept for How much salt will it take to make an egg float.

The density of the average egg will be slightly greater than that of water, so it will sink. To make the egg float, we have to make the water more dense by adding salt. For 1 cup of water, adding 3 tbsp. of salt should be about enough to make the egg float.

why are region called promoters essential to RNA transcription?

Answers

Answer:

A promoter is a region of DNA where transcription of a gene is initiated. Promoters are a vital component of expression vectors because they control the binding of RNA polymerase to DNA. RNA polymerase transcribes DNA to mRNA which is ultimately translated into a functional protein.

Promoter. A promoter is a sequence of DNA needed to turn a gene on or off. The process of transcription is initiated at the promoter. Usually found near the beginning of a gene, the promoter has a binding site for the enzyme used to make a messenger RNA (mRNA) molecule.

An atom of argon contains 18 electrons. Describe how these electrons would be arranged. You may find
it helpful to draw a diagram.
Argon is a gas at 20°C (room temperature). Predict which state neon is at this temperature and give a
reason for your answer.

Answers

Answer:

a. The electrons are configured in a 2-8-8 order with 8 valence electrons. There are three full shells.

b. Because Argon and Neon are in the same group, they have very similar properties, so we can guess they would be in the same state. Neon would be a gas.

In the rat, the allele for red eye colour is dominant over the alleles for brown colour. Consider a cross between a rat that is an Hozygote dominant for eye colour and a rat that is an Hozygote recessive for eye colour.
1. Show the parental genetic cross between the two rats.
2. Use a Punnett square to show the F1 (filial generation).
3. Indicate the genotype and phenotype of the F1 generation.
4. With the results of the F1 generation, construct a Punnett square showing the results of an F2 (generation).
5. Indicate the genotype and phenotype of the F2 generation

Answers

Answer:

1) RR x rr

2) Shown below

3) 100% Rr with red eyes

4) Punnett square shown (Rr x Rr)

5) 25% of the offspring are h0m0zygous dominant with red eyes (RR), 50% are heterozygous with red eyes (Rr), and 25% are h0m0zygous with brown eyes (rr)

Explanation:

Let's say the allele for red eyes is R and the allele for brown eyes is r.

1. A cross between a h0m0zygous dominant (two copies of the dominant allele, R) and h0m0zygous recessive (two copies of the recessive allele, r) is: RR x rr

2.                            R                  R

                  r          Rr                Rr

                  r          Rr                Rr

The F1 generation is shown in the Punnett square above.

3. The F1 generation are 100% Rr. They are heterozygous. Since red (R)                     is dominant, the rats all have red eyes

4. A cross between the F1 generation (Rr x Rr) gives the F2 generation

                              R                  r

                  R         RR              Rr

                  r          Rr                rr

5. 25% of the offspring are h0m0zygous dominant with red eyes (RR), 50% are heterozygous with red eyes (Rr), and 25% are h0m0zygous with brown eyes (rr)

Which kind of root system would more likely benefit a desert plant----a taproot or a fibrous root system? Why?

Answers

Answer:

A taproot

Explanation:

A taproot will most likely benefit a desert plant because a taproot is a large long root that gets deep into the soil because in a desert the soul isnt fertile and is also sandy so a fibrous root system would be less beneficial because it will absorb less nutrients and will have a hard time clinging on a sandy soil while a taproot can reach further into the fertile part of the soil.
