Answer the question below based on the passage “The Myth of Tantalus”.

“For one glorious evening, he dined happily among his fellow mortals, and it was as though he had actual friends.”

Based on this sentence, you can conclude that Tantalus

Answers

Answer 1

After reading the passage about Tantalus, we can conclude the following about him:

Tantalus most likely wished he had friends.

Who is Tantalus?Tantalus is a Greek mythology character. As a matter of fact, it is from his name that the verb "tantalize" is derived. Tantalus was the son of the god Zeus with a nymph and, for that reason, he was friends with the gods and allowed in heaven. However, Tantalus used his access to heaven to sin against the gods. He stole nectar and ambrosia from them to give to humans. He also killed his own son and served him for the gods to eat to test the gods. For that reason, he was punished by being imprisoned in Hades, a mythological hell, where he could not reach the water and the food that were right in front of him.

What can we infer from the passage? The passage says that the night Tantalus spent with fellow mortals was glorious. He was happy because he felt as if he had actual friends. With that piece of information, we can infer that Tantalus wished he has friends, that he craved this sort of intimacy with other mortals.

what is 6/8 x 5? draw a model of your choice to help u solve

Answers

Answer:

Answer:

The complete and simplified answer to the question what is 6/8 of 5 is:

3 3/4

Explanation: You probably know that the number above the fraction line is called the numerator and the number below it is called the denominator. To work out the fraction of any number, we first need to convert that whole number into a fraction as well.

Here's a little tip for you. Any number can be converted to fraction if you use 1 as the denominator: 5/1

So now that we've converted 5 into a fraction, to work out the answer, we put the fraction 6/8 side by side with our new fraction, 5/1 so that we can multiply those two fractions.

That's right, all you need to do is convert the whole number to a fraction and then multiply the numerators and denominators. Let's take a look:

6 x 5/ 8 x 1  =  30 /8

In this case, our new fraction can actually be simplified down further. To do that, we need to find the greatest common factor of both numbers.

You can use our handy GCF calculator to work this out yourself if you want to. We already did that, and the GCF of 30 and 8 is 2.

We can now divide both the new numerator and the denominator by 2 to simplify this fraction down to its lowest terms.

30/2 = 15

8/2 = 4

When we put that together, we can see that our complete answer is:

15/ 4

If you now simplifiy the COMPLETE anwser is:

3 3/4

Nicholas’s Diary: April 2 and 3

Friday, April 2

Well, it’s only 10 more hours until my father and I leave for our treasure hunt. Every Saturday morning for as long as I can remember I have seen him leave, always by himself, to look for treasure. I have always longed to go with him, and he’s always told me that someday I would get the chance. I was so excited when he told me I would finally have my chance that I was bouncing off the walls like a rubber ball and springing from one place to the next the rest of the day.

He has always been as quiet as a mouse about the treasure that he finds, scurrying away with his equipment in the morning and piling up his treasure in his study. Even though he says he always comes home with something, he has never shown it to me or even told me what type of treasure it is. Is it gold, or silver, or maybe it’s precious jewels? Whatever it is, tomorrow I will find out, and hopefully he’ll let me bring some to class so that I can show my friends since I’ve been bragging about it to them ever since Dad told me I could go!

Saturday, April 3

The treasure hunt was fun, but it was not what I expected. Dad and I left early in the morning and headed for the same woods that we sometimes go hiking in on Sundays. I never would have thought they hold treasure, but what was really odd was when Dad told me to leave the shovels at home because we wouldn’t need them. But what he did bring with him was a bright yellow GPS . I had seen it in his truck many times before. I always wondered what he did with it. Today I found out.

Dad and I wandered into the woods, first staying on the hiking path I had taken several times before and then veering off the path. The forest was like a statue; it was still and covered in damp moss and dead leaves; it didn't even seem alive. It appeared that no one had been there for a long time so I knew that this treasure must be old and far under the ground. How were we going to get to it without shovels?

As Dad kept his eyes on the GPS , I looked around, and suddenly I noticed a patch of leaves that was disturbed and a log that looked like it had been moved. When I asked Dad about it, his eyes lit up, and he said he saw the treasure. He reached under the log and pulled out a plastic box with a label that read “Official Geocache.”

I didn’t know what an official geocache was, but I soon found out when Dad opened it. Inside was a little notebook and a bunch of small items like a set of dice, a toy car, and a large silver dollar. Dad said that he thought the toy car was cool, so he took it out and put it in his pocket and then pulled a golf ball from his other pocket and put it in the box. He wrote his name and my name in the little notebook and then closed the box and put it back where he found it.

Geocaching, which is what Dad later told me this type of treasure hunting is called, was much different than digging for gold in the ground. But I thought it was fun, and I hope Dad takes me again next Saturday.
Question 1
Part A

In "Nicholas's Diary: April 2 and 3," what is Nicholas’s first thought when he and his father leave home to go treasure hunting?

It is not going to be the type of treasure hunt that he thought it would be.

The treasure will be carefully hidden and closely guarded.

He will not have a very good story to tell his friends at practice on Monday.

He will not be finding gold or silver, but something far more important.

Which steps in Tylers proof have flaws? Explain what is wrong with each step that is wrong. Step 1: Let ABCD and WXYZ be rhombuses. By the definition of a rhombus, ABBCCDDA and WXXYYZZW. Step 2: Dilate rhombus ABCD by the scale factor given by $$ WX AB. Side A'B' will be the same length as WX because of how I chose the scale factor. Because all sides of a rhombus are congruent, B'C' will be the same length as WX and therefore the same length as XY, C'D' will be the same length as YZ, and A'D' will be the same length as WZ. That means all the corresponding sides of A'B'C'D' and WXYZ will be the same length. Step 3: If all the sides in 2 figures are proportional, then those 2 figures are similar, so there must be a sequence of transformations that take ABCD onto WXYZ using dilations and rigid motions. Step 4: Translate A'B'C'D' by the directed line segment A'W so that A and W coincide. Step 5: Rotate ABCD by angle BWX so that B and X coincide. Now segments AB and WX coincide. Step 6: If needed, reflect ABCD over segment WX so that D and Z are on the same side of WX. Now segments AD and WZ coincide. Step 7: Once 3 vertices of the rhombus are lined up, the other vertex has to line up as well or else the shapes wouldnt be rhombuses. So, we have shown we can use rigid motions and dilations to line up any 2 rhombuses, and therefore, all rhombuses are similar. (Select all that apply.) Step 1 is incorrect. The definition of a rhombus does not say that all the sides are equal. Step 2 is incorrect. The scale factor is not $$ . Step 3 is incorrect. It is only true for triangles that if all the side lengths in a figure are proportional, the figures must be similar. Step 4 is incorrect. Translating by the directed line segment Roberto, Incorporated manufactures products A and B. Both products have a contribution margin ratio of 40%. What is the contribution margin per unit of the constrained resource for product B, if labor time is the constrained resource? multiple choice $2 per minute $3 per minute $6 per minute $8 per minute
