A Toddler got up from a nap and ran for 7.0 seconds and got tired and stopped on the spot. from beginning to end she was accelerating at 0.24m/s^2. What has her change in velocity in metres per second

Answers

Answer 1

The toddler's change in velocity in metres per second is 1.68 m/s

To answer the question, we need to know what acceleration is

What is aceleration?

Acceleration is the change in velocity of an object with time. It is given by

a = Δv/Δt where

Δv = change in velocity and Δt = change in time

The toddler's change in velocity

Making Δv subject of the formula, we have

Δv = aΔt

Since the toddler's accleration is 0.24 m/s² and got up from a nap and ran for 7.0 seconds,

a = 0.24 m/s² and Δt = 7.0 s

Substituting the values of the variables into the equation, we have

Δv = aΔt

Δv =  0.24 m/s² × 7.0 s

Δv =  1.68 m/s

So, the toddler's change in velocity in metres per second is 1.68 m/s

O d) The force of X on Y is 22 N [right] and the force of Y on X is 22 N [left]

Answers

B. The force of X on Y is is approximately 13 N [right].

Tension in the rope

The action-reaction forces that the blocks exert on each other is calculated as follows;

Net force on the blocks = 40 N - (8 N + 4 N) = 28 N

Total mass of the blocks = 10 kg + 5 kg = 15 kg

Acceleration of the blocks

a = F(net)/M

a = 28 N / 15 kg

a = 1.867 m/s²

Considering object X,

40 N - 8N - T = 10 x 1.867

T = 13.33 N

Considering object Y,

40 N - 4N - T = 5 x 1.867

T = 26.67 N

Explanation:

Speed vs velocity

Average acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity per unit of time.

Velocity is a vector, a quantity that has both direction and magnitude (size).  In this case, the cheetah is not changing directions, so we can ignore vector directions, and treat velocity as just speed.

To cool 100 g of water from 100 °C to 0 °C would require the removal of

4.2 x 100 x 100 = 42000 J.

To melt the ice would require the addition of

Which best describes the relationship between energy and entropy in the universe? for entropy to increase, energy must be added. for entropy to decrease, energy must be added. for entropy to remain constant, energy must be added.

Answers

Answer:

Entropy is a measure of the order/disorder during the transformation of the state of a system and is defined as the total variation of energy at a defined temperature. From point of view of statistical mechanics, this variation of energy is generated from statistical transitions of the internal states of the system. In this sense, entropy can measure how easy it is to reach a defined state of the system. Now, imagine a text stream that arrives to you character by character in a screen. If the text is meaningless, then every character has the same probability of appearing to you and therefore the entropy is maximal because this disorder is maximal. If you want to transfer information, then you have to spend a little bit of energy in ordering the characters because this does not happen spontaneously. The final state of the system is more ordered in respect to the earlier one, so the entropy is less than the entropy of random text. This means that, if you want to reduce entropy in order to transfer information, then you must spend energy.
