Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

A large colony of mice lived in a house that was the enemy wasn't think that chat even at night it was not safe for the mice to come out of the walls in search of food they found it hard to get enough to eat one day of the mice. They could barely get stale bread from the day before each day and they had to share it. There were more than thirty mice hidden on the walls of that house. No one had found out they were living there because they were very careful when they came out of the walls.

One day, one person that lived in the house heard noises and turned on the lights at night. The mice were extremely silent because they didn't want to be heard, so that situation was uncommon. When they heard the person walking, the mice started to move around to see if there was anyone missing. They found out there was a mouse missing.

The little mouse got distracted when the mice came out of the walls to get the bread from the day before and he stayed in the house's kitchen alone.

The person that lived in the house was convinced there was something in the house and looked everywhere but didn't find anything. When this person finally turned off the lights and went back to sleep, the mouse left the place where he was hiding and went quickly back to the walls. When the other mice realized the mouse was safe, they decided it was time to sleep.

Explanation:

To complete this exercise, you have to write the rest of the story already written in 210 words. The story is about a colony of mice that lived in a house. I decided to complete the story writing about a little mouse that gets lost in the house's kitchen and has to go back to the walls without getting catch by a person that lives in the house.

Wash’s school reminds me of the one-room schoolhouses in early America.

Answers

Answer:

Wash’s school reminds me of the detention center in the book Holes.

Explanation:

When we're reading a text, we use our prior knowledge and experience to help us understand what we're reading. We automatically start making connections between the new material and what we already know.

There are three types of connections:

Text-to-self - connections between the text and the reader's own experiences; Text-to-text  - connections between the text and other texts the reader has read before;Text-to-world  - connections between the text and the reader's knowledge about what is going on around the world (e.g. what we see on television or read in a newspaper).

The sentence that is an example of a text-to-text connection is the third one, as the student is a making connection between We’ve Got a Job: The 1963 Children’s March and a book they've read before.

Read this excerpt from "The Think Tank" by Patricia Daniels.

Azy, a 21-year-old male orangutan, had been scoring 100 percent on the day's vocabulary test—until now. National Zoo biologist Rob Shumaker holds up some folded bags containing chopped fruit. "Okay, Azy—want to tell me what this is?" In front of the rusty-haired ape is a computer screen showing some symbols. Each one stands for a word. Azy lifts his long, graceful hand and points to the symbol for cup. A buzzer sounds. The screen shows an hourglass symbol that means his answer is wrong.

For the first time this afternoon, Azy seems confused. Shumaker shows him the bags again, and again the orang points to "cup". On the fourth try, Azy figures it out. He points to the symbol for "bag," and Shumaker hands him the paper bags through an opening in the Plexiglas between them. Azy picks out the fruit and reluctantly hands back the bags when the biologist asks politely, "Azy, can I have those?"

For the last three years, Shumaker has been working with Azy and five other orangutans and the Zoo's Think Tank building. In addition to these great apes, Think Tank Researchers are studying creatures as various as hermit crabs, leaf-cutter ants, and macaques. They hope to learn whether—and how—animals think. Some of the scientists look at tool use. Others observe the animals' social life. Shumaker would like to know if orangutans can learn language.

Which answer best summarizes this text?

(A) Azy is a male orangutan who is taking a vocabulary test at the National Zoo. Shumaker has been studying Azy and five other orangutans for three years to see whether the great apes can learn language. Researchers are also looking at other animals to see if they can use tools and learn language and things like that. Azy is part of this study along with other orangutans and hermit crabs, leaf-cutter ants, and macaques.

(C) Azy is a great ape called an orangutan. He has rusty-colored hair. He is taking a vocabulary test. A researcher holds up some bags, but Azy says they are cups. He is wrong. Scientists at the Think Tank building are studying animals. Azy is one of the animals being studied. The researcher wants to know if orangutans can learn language. He is studying Azy and five other orangutans.

(D) Azy was getting 100 percent on his vocabulary test. But then the orangutan got an answer wrong. Shumaker held up some bags of fruit, but Azy picked a symbol for "cup". A buzzer went off to let him know he was wrong. Azy is actually an orangutan. Shumaker is studying Azy to see if he can learn language. He is also studying five other orangutans. Other scientists are studying macaques, ants, and hermit crabs. They want to find out if animals can use tools or have social lives. Do animals think? That's what the researchers at the Think Tank are trying to figure out.

If you are talking about using technology to translate one language to another then look below

Explanation:

Example: English to French

Technology today allows us to set up inputs for languages so that when we talk into our devices, it translated.

If we go with our example, your inputs would be English and French. When you speak into your device you will talk in English and it translates to French.

This is very useful if you go to France. If you want to go for a vacation there, instead of learning the language for the short period of time that you'd be there, you could just take your phone and when you need something translated for a person who speaks French, you just need to talk into your phone and it does the translating for you.

Sir,

Subject: Need to instil moral and ethical values in students.

It is with the appropriateness as a Senior Prefect of Marion Cross School that I write this letter to you. I write this to bring to your notice the unvirtuous and unethical behaviour inculcated among the students recently and the need to inculcate moral and ethical values among students.

In recent times, students of our school have exhibited acts that lack ethics and morals, which are against the principles and values of our school as well. Our school is seen as an embodiment of values and morals in Norwich, if such acts be tolerated and not taken care of by proceeding with necessary actions, then people will question the integrity of our name earned for many years. This may hamper the reputation of our institute causing low enrolment as well.

Additionally, the need to induce moral and etthical values among students is important as they are the generation that will represent our nation. As a institute of discipline and principles and values, our school need to prepare them and build their character by fostering uprightness and virtue among them.

Wherefore, I request you to take obligatory actions to reimpose the moral and ethical values among the students.

Yours Sincerely

Which line in this excerpt from Robert Frost’s “Mending Wall” suggests that the speaker and his neighbor are quite different?
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, "Good fences make good neighbours."
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
"Why do they make good neighbours? Isn't it
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That wants it down."

Answer:

"He is all pine and I am apple orchard."

Explanation:

I believe this line suggests that the speaker and his neighbor are quite different. This is first pointed out when we find the speaker and the neighbor own very different types of tree. But that's not all; I believe it goes deeper than just the difference between their trees. Let's first take a look at the pine tree. Pine trees have pokey needles and sharp-spined pine cones, which may be a reference to the neighbor's attitude. Whereas apple orchards bear sweet apples, much like the speaker's attitude in this excerpt.

Beauty and truth appear in unexpected places is the statement most accurately represents the excerpt's larger idea. Hence, option B is correct.

What is the relation of Beauty and truth?

In other words, "truth is already beautiful, and all we need to know the truth is beauty." We poor mortals just know this, but it's all we need to know: we shouldn't hastily search for solutions we don't require.

The simplicity of truth is its beauty. Because we learn more truthfully when we are honest with ourselves. We are aware of the adjustments we must make. We are released from responsibility when we acknowledge our own weaknesses.

According to Keats, truth is beauty, and anything that is genuine is lovely. He adores nature, and when he touches something, it becomes beautiful. He conjures up a dreamy, fantastical realm where people can escape the harsh truths of life.

Thus, option B is correct.
