Answer 1
Yesterday saw the release of Samanta’s Schweblin’s terrifying Fever Dream. I know this is one of those things people who write about books say, but I actually mean it: this is a book that will keep you up at night—at least one night, anyway, because once you start, you’ll have to finish. You’ll be too disturbed not to. Luckily, it’s short, so you’ll only be captive for a few hours. Inspired by Schweblin’s new book, here is a list of novels you can read overnight—compelling enough that you won’t be lured by sleep, but short enough that once you finish, you’ll still have enough time to clock some hours before you have to go to work. If you can sleep, that is.This is a weird hallucination of a book—reading it feels like an experience, like something that happens to you, as infectious and mysterious and unstoppable and possibly magical as the disease that powers its plot. There is absolutely no way to put it down without breaking the spell, so make sure you’re comfy.
Answer 2

Answer:

Explanation:

Title of short story or novel The Giver

Author Lois Lowry

1. Describe the setting of your novel or short story. The setting of The Giver is in a futuristic world where all emotions and feelings are not allowed. Everyone who lives in this world are all the same and consist of 2 parents and 2 kids.

Provide a quotation from the text to support your answer. “Memories are not just about the past. They determine our future. You can change things. You can make things better.”

2. Describe the protagonist of your novel or short story. The protagonist of The Giver is Jonas this is because he is the main character that we follow around as we read that he gets chosen as the giver, can see color, and so on.

Provide a quotation from the text to support your answer. ''back in the time of the memories, everything had a shape and size, the way things still do, but they also had a quality called color. ''

3. Discuss the main conflict in your novel or short story. If the conflict is not perfectly clear yet, what do you suspect it will be? Explain who is trying to do what. Right now, I think the main conflict is that Jonas got assigned The Giver role this causes many people to think of him differently and for him to think of himself in a different way.

Which of the four major types of conflict best describes the situation you discussed? Our people made that choice, the choice to go to Sameness. Before my time, before the previous time, back and back and back. We relinquished color when we relinquished sunshine and did away with difference. We gained control of many things.

4. Provide at least two examples of dialogue in your novel or short story that support the type of conflict you have identified. Jonas and The Giver talk about their personal memories and how Jonas feared the bad memories.

Another example of dialogue is Jonas not wanting to have any memories and for them to stop coming.

Explain how each example of dialogue supports the conflict. “it's really important to have our memories, Jonas. We can learn from them, either if bad or good!”, The Giver said “What do you mean, I do not understand. I am scare when I remember bad memories! Sometimes I even got nightmares!”, Jonas replied.

“The worst part of holding the memories is not the pain. It is the loneliness of it. Memories need to be shared.” The Giver said

5. Describe two examples of rising action events in your novel or short story. Jonas was worried about what his assignment would end up being and if he were going to get a good assignment.  Jonas becomes a new Receiver; he receives new and different memories that change the way he thinks about himself and his community forever.

Provide a quotation from the text to support your answers. But there was a little shudder of nervousness when he thought about it, about what might happen.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

“I will not let you go out, he said to himself, to the flames—not ever. And so he sat through a long part of the day, keeping the flames even, eating from his stock of raspberries, leaving to drink from the lake when he was thirsty. In the afternoon, toward the evening, with his face smeared and his skin red from the heat, he finally began to think ahead to what he needed to do.”

Question 1 (1 point)
How does this excerpt contribute to the theme of the novel?

a
Brian’s knowledge of what he can eat and drink shows that knowledge is the key to survival in the wild.
b
Brian’s organization in planning ahead shows that it is important to remain hopeful in desperate situations.
c
Brian's dedication to the fire shows that learning to persevere and not give up is necessary in overcoming a challenge.
d
Brian’s fear of losing the fire shows that being nervous in a desperate situation makes a person aware of his surroundings.

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

C i'm pretty sure don't quote me on it

Answer:

C:

When we use elimination, we immediately see that D, "Brian's fear of losing the fire shows that being nervous in a deseperate situation make a person aware of his surroundings." Of course, this is correct in other terms but the main idea of the story is definitely not the fact that Brian needs to be aware of his surroundings. It is something he does need to do, though, but this claim cannot be supported throughout the story. The same goes with A, and even B.

Describe the difference between collaboration and plagiarism as they relate to academic integrity.

Answers

Answer:

The difference between plagiarism and collaboration is when you plagiarism you copy or paste (WHICH I DID NOT DO) but when you collaboration it is taking your own idea with someone's else and collaborate with it.

Answer:

the difference between collaboration and plagiarism is that when you plagiarize you are considered stealing someone else's work verbatim and not giving them any credit at all; whereas collaboration is when you're given permission to work with another student and to use each others words to finish the assignment (but it's only considered collaboration if its done completely together by all students involved and not just one).

This Mystery Rocks! By Cyntha Schlagel

1The Drifting Rocks are a strange phenomenon still unexplained by science. 2Located in Death Valley, California, the rocks sit on hot, flat ground. 3Unlike normal rocks, they have trails etched behind them as if they have traveled across the sand. 4Some trails are only a few feet. 5Some trails are over a half a mile long. 6Each trail is as baffling as the next.

7The variety of rock movement has baffled scientists for decades. 8Some rocks seem to roll as they move forward. 9Some take unexplainable routes. 10Large ones have traveled past small ones that have stayed still. 11Some scientists suggest that the rocks are pushed by wind. 12Others believe they slide on small amounts of ice or mud. 13So far, research has not confirmed any theory.

What is the Secret garden?

Ha Ji-won, Hyun Bin, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Kim Sa-rang appear in the 2010 South Korean television drama Secret Garden. The 20 episodes were broadcast on SBS on Saturdays and Sundays at 22:00 from November 13, 2010, to January 16, 2011.

A logical Cinderella tale about Kim Joo-won, the CEO of a high-end department store, and stuntwoman Gil Ra-im. Secret Garden is surprisingly quite entertaining. Even though the acting was mediocre and the story and romance weren't the best in the world, I can still see why this drama is so well-liked. The drama centers on a rich, cynical CEO who meets an impoverished stand woman and develops feelings for her.

The SBS weekend drama "Secret Garden" had a successful conclusion.

if u work it out then i will give lots of brinilets (pls show workings out):P The Barretts and the McGregors are adjacent property owners. There is a fence, built in the late 1940's, separating their properties. The Barretts bought their property in 1973 from the Prescott family with a warranty deed recorded in the appropriate government office. The Prescott family had purchased the property from the Nunn family in 1945, also with a warranty deed recorded in the appropriate government office. The Barretts attempted to sell their property and a dispute arose regarding the boundaries of the property. The property in dispute consisted of 34.28 acres in a heavily wooded area behind the residences. The disputed property was on the McGregor's side of the fence, but the Barretts argued that the deeds clearly outline the disputed property as part of their land. To trace their ownership, the Barretts produced the 1945 deed which described the land in great detail, using metes and bounds, and clearly included the 34.28 acres. The Barretts also produced the 1973 deed which Included a general description using the words, "the tract described in the 1945 deed from Nunn to Prescott." In other words, in the 1973 Deed's general description, the Prescott family claimed to convey their entire parcel obtained through the 1945 Deed, including the 34.28 acres in dispute. In contrast, the 1973 Deed's metes-and-bounds description did not contain the 34.28 acres. Instead, the 34.28 acres were directly next to the property described by the metes and bounds in the 1973 deed. Who owned the property?1. The Barretts claim the property belonged to them because of a legal transfer through (deed or adverse possession)2. Both the 1945 and 1973 deeds were ( warranty or grant or quitclaim) deeds.3.
